This one looks good!

Cory vs Umar should be great. Can Cory stuff the TD? He has reach but Umar's striking is way better. Cory has an active guard and sneaky subs but he prefers to stand. Great match.

Mogomedov vs Michal: Striker's delight. Both guys are high level strikers with only one submission win on both records. This will be a step up to a gatekeeper kind of level for Mogomedov and Michal lost his last 2 vs 2 really tough ranked guys. Great match.

Vera vs Figgy OH YEAH! There may be some wrestling thrown in by Figgy but Marlon has great counter BJJ and good TD defense. Marlon is the bigger guy for sure but Figgy is relentless but has a tendency to get tired in the later rounds where Marlon will still be pretty fresh.

Dern (Best ass in MMA) vs Loopy Dern is coming off 2 losses two the two top ladies in the division. Loopy lost to Virna who will be fighting for the belt in a few months with her resent win over Lemos. Loopy is a classic striker with really crisp boxing and good ground skills. Dern gets better every time with her hands but expends way too much energy with TDs and then cannot get a sub on the ground. This is a gal fight I look forward to.

Joel vs Elves, we have a striker's fight now we have a grapplers fight. Both guys are really good on the ground. I have seen Joel fight before. Tough as nails and has one decision in the UFC which was a close loss in his first fight for them.

Pretty excited for this event, it is a solid card for a non ppv!

This will tell us if Umar is legit for the title. Sandhagen is good enough to be the champ on any given fight, so this will be an interesting bout and tell us where they are.

Love the Shara fight. Guy has the 'look' factor and standup game, but i'll be interested to see how he does when facing a guy who is tough everywhere. He can hang and beat probably most guys on the feet, but if they mix it up on him and take him down, how good is he there with a top ground specialist. Fun fight!

Vera and Fig is a GREAT fight! Like Umar, this will tell us where Fig stands in the division. If he can get by Vera, and that's a big if, then he will be poking at the top soon. I agree with Jipped....Vera will go all 3 rounds, but will Fig fad or stay strong? Will Vera get his big punch or kick in? You never know how it will go when somebody faces Chito. With it being a 3-round fight, I think Fig will be fine, but the other question is whether Vera will get going by the 2nd or 3rd. He almost always loses the first, and sometimes 2nd rounds, before he pours it on. If Chito starts strong and wins the first round, it may spell disaster for Fig. Fig has been a monster in this division though....I can't wait for this fight!

Dern....all about that ass in this fight! LOL. I hope she wins just so she keeps herself on a winning record to stay in the UFC for future ass fights, haha. I swear if she got her standup in order, she could beat anybody in the UFC because she is a monster on the ground.

I'll have to go and look up the other fights again:)

Vera always starts slow, many times to his detriment. He looses two then cannot catch up. Figgy will be the smaller guy and has underrated wrestling. If it goes to the ground can he stay on top? Chito is a long guy with good sweeps and good subs. Just a great fight all over. Vera does not have that 1 punch power, Fig did but going up it has not translated. His last 3 stoppages were subs. Vera is HARD to sub. I think it is a decision one way or the other.

Dern uses so much energy on TDs it leaves her spent in the late rounds. I think if she could get her TD game in order that would be even better. Hell Ben Askren could not strike for shit but because his TD was so good it shut down his opponents striking. Dern needs that! Against an average striker she does well but as we saw, against a good striker she gets pieced up badly.

I wanna train with Dern, no gi...no clothes for that matter...

Thanks bro. I normally get home from training. Shower, eat, lie down and nap with my other wifes... Their name is "Icepacks" for an hour or two and by that time i would have missed most or forgot about it.

Advice. best wrap for icepacks on shins, elbows ect are you inzer knee wraps. I use them more for this task than squatting.

Some technical bouts. Not barn burners but still good.

Umar vs Cory was a really great fight. High level striking and grappling. Cory lost but dammit he looked good doing it. Who has stuffed Umar? NOBODY! The transitions on the ground were CRAZY technical.

Magomedov vs Michal this was a great fight. Bullet won the fight but Michal made it a battle. Lots of back and forth. Magomedov is beatable by a pressure guy his size with good striking. Michal might be able to cut to 170 but it would be brutal. He is small for 185. Best fight of the night. Michal went for the win. He Pressed and if he could have got 1-2 really well placed shots...

Figgy vs Vera. Like I said, vera is a SLOW starter. Figgy grinds and was fatigued by the end but got the win. Vera found Figgy's chin a couple times but it did not slow him. Figgy's grappling was the key to the win.

Chiesa vs Tony Man, hard to watch an old fighter that has aged out. Chiesa is not a top fighter, he does have GREAT back control and chokes.

Dern vs Loopy was a close fight. Dern is better on the feet but she wades in and take a lot of shots. A little head movement would help. I did not see either being a title contender but a good fight. That ass.

Alvarez vs Brener Alvarez stood on the outside and with great pressure and picked his shots. When it came time in the 3rd he poured it on and got the W and the finish. This guy will be good.

  • Fight of the Night: Sharabutdin Magomedov vs. Michał Oleksiejczuk
  • Performance of the Night: Joel Álvarez and Azamat Murzakanov

Yea, I agree!

I think that Cory will look back and this fight and it will haunt him because he could have won it...at least in my opinion. Every round was super close despite the score total at the end. I feel that if Cory would have done at least 2 things, he would have taken this fight: 1) Kept the pressure on Umar after the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Umar was breathing super hard after both of those, and Cory looked in much better cardio condition. If he would have pushed it forward and kept Umar walking back, I feel he would have set him up to gas a little more. BUT, I also feel like he should have tried level changes and takedowns against Umar. He stuffed Umar's ground game for the most part, and took his best. He could have kept Umar guessing a little more if he would have mixed those in. Umar just had to concentrate on the standup because Cory never tried a takedown. That said, Umar proved to be a top guy with this win because Cory is phenomenal. Umar's standup was much better than anybody gave him credit for. I bet Cory didn't expect him to be at that level. These 2 will fight again in the future for sure. The 135# division is stacked!!!

I think Shara is beatable too. He doesn't have a ton of power in his shots, but a super high volume. I want to see him against a pressure fighter too, who has a good standup and ground game.

Fig looked pretty good. He took that 2nd round off and vera caught up to even it 1-1, and he was able to be more active in the 3rd with some shots that hurt Vera. I swear if Vera came out super aggressive, especially with his gas tank, he would dominate much more. He needs to walk guys down, cut them off and turn it on. Every time he does it, he wins or hurts his opponents. When he sits back he eats punches because he can take them, but he loses too many rounds like that. He rides on his 1-shot punch or kick to win him the fight in those situations (like Edgar and Cruz), but if he doesn't get it he falls behind. The guy has it to be at the top, he just doesn't let it go.

I thought Tony was going to fully retire, but he only half-assed it, lol. Guy is too addicted....he has the drive and determination, but he does not have the speed and reaction times he had. Also, a division up, he does not have the power advantage either. I feel bad for the guy, possibly the greatest fighter to never win a title. Both he and Khabib not fighting in his prime was a travesty.

Dern's ass was the whole show in the fight, lol. A decent fight, but I agree with neither ready for a belt any time soon.

Alvarez is a stud, he will be a force in the division. He reminds me of Sandhagen some. Look forward to seeing him in future fights!

Agree with all. I think Sandhagen was tired too but his muscles were pumped from the wrestling. He has the VO2 but if your muscles are full of blood it is hard to press. Still great fight.

I wish Tony would retire. I get it, its hard to let go.
