LightweightIslam Makhachev (c)vs.Arman Tsarukyan
BantamweightMerab Dvalishvili (c)vs.Umar Nurmagomedov
Light HeavyweightJiří Procházkavs.Jamahal Hill
LightweightBeneil Dariushvs.Renato Moicano
MiddleweightKevin Hollandvs.Reinier de Ridder

Islam is on a 14 win streak. He got KO'd by a guy back in 2015 who has only won 1 fight since then and is not in the UFC anymore. Fluke. Islam can strike at will as he is the top tier grappler. He has gotten TKO/KO in 2 of his last 4 and 2 subs in that time as well. Armen has 25 fights and 3 losses. 1 KO/TKO and 2 decisions. He lost to Islam back in 2019 and wants revenge. Careful what you ask for as Islam is a huge fav. This will be a grappling heavy fight i assume. Both guys can wrestle but Islam is by far better. Armen is the better striker but not by much these days. LW Champ fight

Merab vs Umar - Merab is the champ. He has not lost since 2018 and is a control fighter. Some might say boring as hell, that is me saying that. He is a pressure wrestler and in 19 wins he has just 4 finishes. Umar is undefeated and at least has a 50% finish rate. Honestly bros, I could care less. Umar is the more exiting fighter as he takes chances to get subs. Both guys will throw hands but are not nearly as effective as a true striker or even Islam. I will watch it as it will be two of the more powerful P4P grapplers in the UFC. I will root for Umar as I dislike Merab and his boring ass fighting style. Bantam weight champ fight

Jiri vs Hill Former champs both of them. Both guys won the strap them lost it against Pereira, one and done. Both guys want another shot at it. Both guys are top of the heap but Alex is diff level. This is a great striking match up. Jiri is am unorthodox striker with strange angles and hands down technique. He will grapple too. Jamal is a guy who picks his shots and is comfy on the attack or countering. Jiri has a better finish rate with only 1 win coming by decision. This may be FOTN on the main card.

Beneil vs Renato Very interesting fight here. Beneil is a wrestler with fairly heavy hands but he would rather sub you than strike. Renato is a sub ace who is fine on his back and will throw up subs one after another and is on a 4 fight win streak with only one going the distance. Beneil has lost 2 in a row to KO/TKO. Very interesting fight.

Holland vs RDR is a great match up. Hollands is a striker with legit BJJ skills but RDR is a BJJ smasher. Holland has 1 win via sub and 3 losses in his last 4. RDR is 50% in 4. Two TKO/KO losses and a TKO win as well as a sub win. I like this match up. This made it on the main card just because it will be fun I think.

the prelims have some fun guys too. Almeida who is a striking tank. J Walker who either wins by tko/Ko or takes one and more.

Good card. Always like when Holland fights. Always puts on a show. Hill fight should be good. All around good card!

I'm really amp'd for this card, it is awesome on paper, and I think it will deliver as well!

I'm kind of hoping Umar wins as well. A lot of the guys in his camp say he will be the better fighter of all who have come from their camp. I was shocked to hear this, but only time will tell. I swear all the joking about Merab being scared of Umar seem true by the way he acts and what he says. I keep laughing at everything that happens, lol. I can't wait for this fight. If Umar wins, I feel he will dominate for many years to come. I guess if Merab wins, it could be the same for him as well. Umar showed he is very well-rounded when he beat Sandhagen last year in a good technical fight. Umar has a huge size advantage judging by their stare-down in December.

I think the Islam/Arman fight could be really good. Their first fight was awesome and pretty close. I guess we'll see who has improved the most since that fight. It's hard to go against Islam at this point, he looks so good. However, I don't count out Arman, he has looked fantastic! I can't wait for this fight. I think Arman has to win the fight standing if he is to take it. He can wrestle with Islam, but can he win that battle....i'd have to give it to Islam, personally.

This whole card is pretty stacked!

I think if Jiri loses, he will drop down to middleweight, or he will lose it mentally. I have no idea who will win this, it's a great fight. It can be a long war, or either guy can knock the lights out of their opponent. Neither guy will beat Alex though...Jiri will not get another opportunity after losing twice, and the 2nd fight he looked bad and Alex looked light years ahead of him. hell, Alex made Hill look bad too. lol.

It's hard to really say with Beneil. Did he lose his edge? He is even older now too, did he miss his opportunity years prior? Where is he at both physically and mentally? So many questions. he looked really good against Gamrot before losing to both Oliveira and Arman. All i know is I can watch fukking Money Moicano every week! That guy is awesome. Kind of cheering Moicano just so we can see another post-fight speech and rant, haha.

Kevin Holland is never in a bad fight, even when he loses. Guy is an effin stud. If he only had better wrestling, and stayed in the right division, he'd be ranked even higher. I bet he gets paid well by Dana behind the scenes and off contract for taking fights like he does. Great fight here to watch.

I won't go through all the prelim fights, but one guy they are bringing up fairly quick is Payton Talbott. He has a pretty good fan base behind him too.

Great commentary bro. Jiri vs Hill is not that important for the division. I think JIRI should drop but 20 lbs is a big cut!

  • Fight of the Night: Merab Dvalishvili vs. Umar Nurmagomedov
  • Performance of the Night: Jiří Procházka and Jailton Almeida
Renato vs Islam...man, Renato had a slim chance and is a solid fan friendly fighter but against the BEST in the world? He lost but he got paid fat $$$ and will keep his job.

Merab weaponized cardio vs Umar who wilted.

Jiri truly believes he is the best. He still wants another shot at Alex. He owned Hill who is gonna slide in the ranks for sure.

Jailton is a monster. Whill he win a title? No, but he is fun to watch and loves smashing people.

I was disappointed in that card. On paper it looked good but was boring. Jiri looked like he had a good camp. He looked solid out there. I just hate how he doesn't keep his hands up.

Had I bet this card I would have lost my ass. I had Umar over Merab and Hill over Jiri. I was most pumped for Arman vs Islam.... Looks like Arman is going to have to win 1 or 2 more to get back to the title. Not sure if Islam sticks around at 155. Rumor is he is tired of the weight cut. He is much bigger than Belal at 170, that would be a good fight. Not sure they will fight one another..

For sure, some guys are truly fast enough to get away with it. He is not. He does have good fades on his back foot but he gets hit a lot by bigger guys. Alex is fast but not super fast, he hit Jiri at will almost. Alex has INCREDIBLE timing which is more important than speed. I have sparred with MMA gloves and getting hit with a 5oz glove vs a 14-16oz glove is a MASSIVE difference especially if you block the shot as the 5oz does not offer as much protection but still offers WAY more than getting clocked clean. Hell 16oz gloves you can block big shots with no probs.

I think Jiri is a top LHW but he is not the guy to beat Alex...but who is?

Alex is on a whole other level. I'd like to see him or Jones move up or down in weight and fight.
Most of the big name guys are retiring from UFC.

I think before Islam moves up, he at least needs to fight Tsarukyan, and maybe a super fight vs. Topuria. Once he goes up, it will be hard to go back down, imo. I thought Renato did well on the feet, he forced Islam to go to the ground. He did ok until he gave up his neck. That was a bad move and should have been known since Islam has submitted many guys via D'arce. I believe I just heard Belal Muhammed say he would go up to middleweight if Islam came up to welters because he didn't want to fight a friend. lol.

Merab and Umar was a great fight until Umar gassed. All respect to Merab, he is a cardio machine. I've never seen anybody like it from memory. Umar is good, he just needs to go back, regather and learn from this experience. I'm not sure how valid his broken hand accusation is? He will need to make a change or two to help him slow down Merab, but also increase his own cardio. I'm speaking from an armchair position here though, lol.

The Jiri and Hill fight was good, but I swear in almost every exchange it could have ended, with either fighter winning. I had Jiri winning the whole fight (outside of the finish), but I think Alex's timing and accuracy will clip Jiri again. I feel Jiri should mix up the fight by going straight for takedowns and level changes, then mix it up. Neither guy is a top ground guy, but on the feet, Alex is a nightmare. I think Alex's next fight vs Ankalaev will maybe tell us more. If Ankalaev does not take it to the ground, then he is a complete retard. I think Jones would take Alex down and GnP him to death, personally. However, I need to see more of Alex's ground game first.

I don't think Almeida has a chance at this point against more well-rounded guys. He is too 1-dimensional at this point.

The Holland/RDR fight was disappointing. I swear Holland starts off stupid at times and puts himself into danger. He can't do that in the middleweight division where the guys are bigger and stronger and just pin him down. I love the guy, but he frustrates me.

The Talbott/Barcelos fight was pretty good. Barcelos took the up-and-comer to town.
