WORCESTER - Two Southbridge residents are facing steroid manufacturing and distribution charges in U.S. District Court.
Kurt Moisan, 36, and Bobbijo Clark, 42, of 148 Hamilton St., Southbridge, were each charged with distribution of anabolic steroids, possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids, and conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids. Mr. Moisan was additionally charged with manufacturing anabolic steroids. Both were arrested Monday afternoon at their Southbridge residence.
During the fall, the DEA in Newark, New Jersey, received information about an operation involving making and distributing anabolic steroids from rapidlab.biz, a retail website that advertises the sale of testosterone and other illegal steroids.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Moisan ran the website, police said.
On Dec. 10, DEA agents placed an undercover online order of testosterone from the website and received the drug Dec. 17. Agents also placed orders on Jan. 8 and Jan. 22 and received the goods Jan. 12 and Jan. 28, police said.
According to court documents, on three occasions from December 2014 to January, an undercover federal agent purchased anabolic steroids from a website maintained by Mr. Moisan and Ms. Clark. In Feburary, authorities searched their Southbridge residence found they were operating a small laboratory out of their second floor apartment, according to the U.S. attorney's office. Agents seized thousands of grams of suspected powdered steroids and hundreds of vials containing suspected liquid steroids. They admitted to importing raw steroids from China, cooking them into injectable steroid compounds in their apartments, and distributing the steroid compounds through online sales throughout the country.
