Two new squat vids from today: 505 x 1 and 435 x 3

Got back to a 500+ squat today, tying my previous 1 rep max effort of 505 from last year, and got a new max triple @ 435.

Actually did the triple @ 435 twice because the camera ran out of memory on the first attempt and as we all know vid or it didn't happen, right?

:)

Yeah, looks like you could of done more than the 505...no spotters either...

Get some spotters and push it farther. :t2991:

Best part IMO on the 435lb vid was at :50 with the dude mirin lol

Honestly felt heavy as phcuk.

I think I unracked it and stepped back too forcefully. It had me wobbling a bit. Honestly it felt like a really shitty lift when I was done. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the vid.

Over the next few weeks I am going to work on getting doubles and triples at 455 and 475 then see if I can push well past the 500 mark.

Stop acting like 505 is your max lift... lol. Awesome job brother that shit went up like butter, great lift!

That sounds like a perfect plan.

One thing that works for me to kinda get my attitude right before a heavy squat is to make sure I unrack it by the book. Both feet inside shoulder width, hips under the bar and unrack it like a piston. Let the bar whip a bit and then settle down. Then walk it back with two little steps and then step outwards.

Awesome squats man!

Just wondering, maybe it's the angle, but it looks like there are 5 , 45 lb plates on each side and a 25 lb plate and a 5 lb plate on each side in the first video.

505 is 5, 45 lb plates on each side and a 5 lb plate on each side.

In the second video it looks like 4, 45 lb plates , a 25lb plate and 5 pound plate on each side.

Is it just me?

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering.

These plates are weird euro-crap and the sizes are misleading. 35s look almost the same as 45s, 25s look like 35s and 10s look like 25s.

They have plastic coating on them.

First vid I had 4 plates, a 35, a 10, and a 5 on each side.

Second vid I had 4 plates, a 10, and a 5 on each side.
