Well I remember in the past 30 years everytime there was an incident in the middle east oil prices would jump before there wasn't any actual effect on oil production. So the opposite should be the same as when Trump says drill baby drill the prices should go down. LOL.
I voted for Trump and support a lot of things he's TRYING to do, but he's said some really stupid shit that takes away from alot of shit. Fking talking about America taking over GAZA and building condos, not banning TikTok or deep seek just to name a few plus the heartless statement he made after the crash of the helicopter about the cause being DEI which of course was particularly true but that wasn't the time to say it.
I hope he gets the economy rolling because if he loses the house the last 2 years are over for him. Maybe sooner if the government takes him out.

I’m feeling like a lot of people should have been more mindful of what they were asking for / expecting when they voted for Trump. This bizarre president Elon / Trump combo is some next level black mirror type shit! There’s some sort of very strange technocratic takeover in play.

I have to admit to being surprised.. Trump is suggesting that the Unites States slash the military spending by 50% (if our adversaries agree to this too). Although I suspect it's a bullshit move. Just more posturing. It's interesting.

I feel this too. Can't quite put my finger on it.. It is an unholy alliance between technocratic, atheist, anarcho-nerds and religious, conservative populists.

Did you see the video where Elon's kid tells Trump "shut up, you're not the real president." Where did a child hear that? Dad, of course.

It’s so surreal that someone other than the president was giving a type of address from the Oval Office. Really, WTF have we stepped into?
I truly think the US is in a sense of threatened existence struggle for its survival. It’s in a heap of weakened shit, and acting increasingly like a cornered animal. It’s lost a LOT of clout and overcompensatingly trying to maintain a poker face.
It so badly wants to portray itself as being, and wants to be the dominant empire — but the reality is, there has been a big shift from its unipolarity.

I think this is the end.. America is veering around wildly, politically, desperately searching for a way forward. We are being destroyed from within by partisan politics, a clever trick used by the elites to divide us to better control us. They have won. The enemy of the American people IS the American people.

There may be a brute fact at work here. Perhaps Democracy does not work? Not in the long run. Just speculating. But the American empire is at it's end. Western culture is at it's end. Asia is ascending and will lead the world now. Asia is playing master level 3D chess and the Americans are playing checkers like children.

Empires all fall.

The Egyptians came and went.

The Mongols came and went.

The Greeks came and went.

The Romans came and went.

The British empire came and went.

Now America's days are numbered.

It's not all bad. People still live their lives happily enough in dead empires. They still start businesses, have families, hang with friends. Life goes on.

I have no problem with what he is proposing to do. There wasn't any other option. We would be destroyed if Harris won. All of it is smoke and mirrors when you are 36 trillion in debt and no real laws are made to change anything. Every other day a new judge stops anything he is trying to do anyways and we have a congress that is absolute dog shit.

I think we are heading towards techno-feudlism. In the future oligarchs will own everything. A handful of trillionaires will own the farms, factories, land, water rights, AIs, robots, politicians, everything. We will all be living on land owned by the oligarchs, following the rules made by oligarchs, They will control all the information. They will use AI systems millions of times more intelligent than us to manipulate us in ways we cannot even imagine. We may not ever know we are being manipulated, the manipulation may be so subtle.

They will control our every movement. We will be thrown scraps, just enough to keep us from total starvation. Guns will not matter when an AI powered robotic system moves faster than human minds can follow.

This will be America. Feudalism, arguably the oldest form of social structure, is returning. This time the feudal lords control the information as well as all the physical assets.
