What up fellas. Hopping on here to see what some of you vets think, my brother is 41 and just had his bloods done and wanting to get on trt. Looks like he’s at 416, with his free test at 79. He’s not an active gym goer etc just a regular shmoe haha. Any opinions on what dose he should run to get him in the 8-900 range?

While 416 isn't great, it isn't horrible either. I have seen plenty of guys who had no problems building muscle, losing fat, sleeping or with sex drive in the 400-500 ng/dl range then have problems when they add in exogenous test.

I would work on getting that up through changes in lifestyle before jumping on TRT. If he was already living the lifestyle then I would say go for it.

Yeah his dumbass wants it higher and already started two weeks ago. Was trying to do 200 mg a week, and he wants to stay on it but I was thinking he wouldn’t need more than 80-100 mg a week if he was to do it but was just seeing what y’all thought.

My opinion would be that he would likely have more estrogenic side effects that may not make it worth it to him. People like to romanticize getting on test when it’s not always a cake walk.

That said I would steer him to 150/wk max with the understanding that once he starts he will likely have to stay on.

If he already started then I would say 20 mg a day. Every day typically leads to less aromatization and better blood panels. Pull labs after about 6 weeks to see where he is.

Start off low and slowly work your way up. Might start with 80mg/wk. Give it 3 months and do blood work again. Make adjustments from there.

OK...........200/wk isway too high. Once you fuck up things it is very hard to get your hormone levels back in balance. But he is a grown man and can do what he wants.

Going from 416 to 800 or so, he probably won't even notice a difference. They say that as long as you're in the sweet spot of in range, there are no benefits of being higher in the range, or drawbacks of being lower but in the range.

In my opinion, this is a waste of time, and he's shutting down his endogenous production for no benefit.

If he were at <250 ng/dl and/or had real symptoms of low T, then that would be a different story.

If he wants to run a cycle, then do that. At least it would be worth it.

IF he was working out that would be an option lol
