Wow, man. The Camino de Santiago route is challenging. It’s a really cool experience. Love it!

I have been to around 30 different countries and just about every state except the extreme NE and upper Midwest, nearly all for work. Barely got to enjoy any of them, but I would have to say my favorites were Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. I hate the Philippines (no offense if you are from there, but I would rather go back to Iraq or Afghanistan than go back to the Philippines). All the others were okay.

My wife and I have backpacked in Italy and Thailand. Both trips 22 days. We had a hotel the first night and planned nothing else. We used planes in Thailand to go long distances from say the coast to the mountains in the north. Only about $40 flight. We would just wake up and decide where we wanted to go. We liked the beach so much we stayed 5 days. I was freaking out not having a plan but now I am sold on the idea.

Same with Italy. We would go to the train station and pick a destination up the line from us. We would get there and figure it all out on the train.

Both trips were sooooooo good. One could stay in China Town in Bangkok for 10 days and not see it all. Also the street food was INSANLY GOOD!

We also did Qatar but it was not nearly as fun. Very few citizens, very little culture to immerse oneself. Plenty to see and do but felt very strict and sterile.

Next year, Costa Rica
