I really feel like I am, thanks! This week was always a planned easy/lower mileage week. I think for me five good, hard weeks into the legs and then a week that just comprises of mainly recovery-style runs is going to (hopefully) allow optimal adaptation whilst minimising injury risk.
Won't bore you all with the details, but I just ran 25.9km last week.

Back to it now, feeling refreshed again and ready to go.

5 weeks on 1 week (inc active recovery sessions) is a nice periodised cycle.
Prob one of the most overlooked aspects of training is periodisation. Props to you, sir.

100 miles, that's amazing. One mile sounds very long to me.I didn't know people run that far. Forest Gump is the only one I have heard of that does.
That's all I have to say about that.

Thanks man, crazy thing is there's people out there that don't stop at 100 miles; there are races that are even further. Mind boggling.

Split runs start to become really useful when you start to really ramp up the mileage. Today for example I ran 26km, but rather than run it all in one go I did an easy 9km fasted session this morning and followed that up with a harder 17km tempo run tonight.

Good week of running as I inch ever closer to getting up to my 100km training week. The Sunday night run was pretty cool and for that distance that pace felt deceivingly quick, I started feeling quite nauseous around the 30km mark and by the time I got back I was pretty wasted haha.

Made a delicious raw wrap yesterday for a late lunch. Consisted of yellow capsicum, carrot, mushroom and spicy pinto & kidney beans. I spread a thin layer of homemade chili sauce across the wrap so it had a good kick to it!

This was what I ate before my long run last night ~ rice, potato, soy balls, spinach and tofu. Seemed to work well
