It's a trip for me to think of this. Going back to 1994 just isn't the same as going from 1985 back to 1955. I'd take 1994 over 2024, but I think 1955 was more....prestige, for lack of a better term. Seems to have been a much different time going back to 1955 from 1985, than it is going to 1994 from 2024.

Anybody else feel this way?

Thanks BMJ, I am old. I just finished my junior year of high school when that came out.

I don't think for me going back 30 years to 1994 would be all that exciting. Yes not a bunch of idiots walking around on their cell phones but I don't think he was such a significant difference between then and now. Yes seems like the world has grown a lot more idiots. If I was going to go somewhere I'd rather go 30 years back from 1984 to me going back to the 50s would be great. My wife and I have this conversation all the time we wish we were in our twenties during the seventies seems like a fun time even though there was still lots of issues but better music

The cultural “revolution” of the 60s and to some extent the 70s makes the lifestyle and norms of the 80s appear more dramatic in contrast to 1950s compared to the 2020s/90s comparison with arguably one major exception…Internet access and all that comes with it in terms of commerce, social networks, information access, etc.

It's crazy to think the 90s were 30 years ago. I knew I was getting older when I heard Pearl Jam on the classic rock station in my area. I'm like wth? Pearl Jam??
