A Bangkok court has ruled that two Britons, arrested in Pattaya in 2008, are to be extradited to the USA to face drugs and money laundering charges.

Pattaya, 16 December 2010 (PDN): On Thursday, in room 703 of Bangkok’s Criminal Court in Ratchadapisek Road, a judge read the ruling to extradite two Britons to the USA where they face charges of trading in anabolic steroids and money laundering.

Edwin Richard Crawley (46) and Mr. Ashley Vincent Livingston (47) were arrested in Pattaya on March 21 2008, following a joint operation by the US Drug Enforcement Administration, and local police. Crawley is alleged to have imported steroids from China and sold them to customers in Europe and the USA. Livingstone is accused of being his partner and helping Crawley to find customers.

Crawley who had previously appealed against the extradition, but withdrew his appeal on 15th December, had been running his operation since 1999, making enough money to purchase properties worth 20 million baht in Pattaya.

Crawley has received much support both from the online community and locally, where he is well known for helping local charities in Pattaya, and coaching the handicapped weight-lifting team.

I second this.

Pursuing steroid dealers is a real waste of time when resources could be better utilized in stamping out the dangerous drug trades
