You will fit in here just fine 56. I'm 52 and kicking ass. This is a great board for old farts like us who want to get huge. Welcome to Iron Den!

If that's you in your profile pic... That's WTF I'm talkin about! I picked up the bowflex to see if I really wanted to or WOULD get into working out. In the process of selling and buying a house right now. When that's done, I'm getting a gym membership just 3 blocks from the new house.

Welcome to TiD. It's good to see you here. Me...55 in a month. Still lifting and feeling good. It's never too late to start achieving your goals.

Oh..and as mentioned above by 1Big....loose the BowFlex. Get you a power rack and an olympic bar and plate set up with a nice flat bench. This would be a great start on a home gym and not too expensive. If you decide to go to a local gym. Choose wisely. There are quite a few that mis-represent themselves.

Good luck and Stick with it.

Welcome: This is a great forum.

I turned 51 a few days ago. In regards to trt, I am on it. I tested at 281, after 5 years of being natural. I used heavily during my competitive days, but was fine until about 47 or so, and even cialis would not work.

There are many other important variables besides total test. You doc is probably not trained to look for these variables. For example Steroid Hormone Binding Globulin will bind most of your free test, thus rendering the actual (free) test to a low level.

The bottom line is that if you have erectile issues, see another doc. There are three main variables related to erectile function. First, your test level must be adequate in order to get a hard on. For me, for 100% solid erectile function, I need a 1500 level of TT, which takes 300 mgs weekly of injectable test. My trt doc prescribes 200, and I fill in the blanks. Next, you need to be able to keep an erection, and PED5s' do that. However, there is one variable often overlooked: The mind. That can be hard to treat. To illustrate my sweet, loving, wonderful younger wife is a variable. When she was doing Cross Fit and/or training w/ me, I was ready to be "on the job" after just touching her tight body. A year ago, she decided to let herself go, and has gained a ton of weight and gotten really flabby. All the cialis and test in the world no longer works. I know I sound like a jerk, but it is important that people understand this third variable is very important, but often overlooked. That is why I advocate getting married later in life. At 51 I accept that she is going to do what she wants, and there is nothing I can do about that. I still love her and will never leave her, and that is good since we have a young son.

Having said that, there are now peptides that address the third, mental aspect of sexual desire.

hhhmmm.

250 puts me somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1200. I'm fine with that. happier when higher, though.

Yes, that is good for most people. Again, as mentioned, there are 3 variables. My point (which I just re-read....a bit of a rant but important for understanding erectile function) is that with trt and PED5 inhibitors we can easily treat 2.

Interestingly, there are peptides out there that affect the illusive mental aspect. They are Melanotan II and peptide derivatives of Melanotan. I have been trying everything to get my wife working out again (but to no avail)

Sorry, OP for the thread jack. I saw that marriages affected your getting to the gym, but don't let that happen, train no matter what. Welcome to TID good luck with your goals.

I'm glad you brought up peps. I've been wanting to discuss this on here but I'm not a forum user kind of guy and don't really know where to start a thread about the subject. I've been a lab rat, or should I say I have a lab rat? Whatever, anyway I've been using cjc-295 with ghrp-2 for a little more than a month and I'm beginning to see some changes. I've also been using Melanotan with mixed feelings about the results.
I'de love to have someone to share notes with concerning peps. Did I mention that my solid white mustache is now growing in almost black?

Dr_jitsu I fully understand about the third factor in libido function. I've tried all the ED meds and besides the fact they all make me feel like one of those goldfish with the big bulging eyes, they may produce an erection but what good is one if you have no desire to use it? I don't judge you for not being attracted to your wife in her present condition. I've been in a very similar situation with my first wife. I thought she was nasty to look at. I absolutely abhor fat. A woman can have a stunning face but if she's even a little on the chunky side, I won't bother looking at all.

I'd like to learn more about how and where to start threads. For example this subject, well, these subjects... related but separate. Both I think could use some airing out.

I'd like to say I'm pleased that you baby boomers who refuse to die early so the government won't have to pay SS benefits, stepped up to say hi. I'm rather excited to be here and look forward to learning.
