Symptoms of high estrogen?

Hey guys,

So today and yesterday, I've been really bitchy and moody with my wife. We're in the process of moving homes, so the stress levels in the household are definitely higher, which I think is part of the problem. I've noticed myself being snappy and going on these little bitchy rants.

I had an epiphany after an argument today. My wife was complaining about how I'm nagging her, and I realized, "Holy shit, I'm nagging her just like she sometimes nags me." It got me thinking: maybe I'm experiencing the negative effects of heightened estrogen right now, rather than testosterone.

KEEP in mind, 6 weeks ago my test level was at 299.
I started enclomiphene 5 weeks ago. I feel soo different and stronger already, feeling the heightened testosterone.

I want your insights on this.

1. Do any of you relate to moodiness, snappiness, or bitchiness? Could this be a symptom of higher estrogen levels right now?

2 What should I do to combat this moodiness? I am currently on a SERM called Enchromaphen for TRT purposes. Should I consider taking an aromatase inhibitor (AI) if I'm already on a SERM?

What are your thoughts?

Common side effects include:
  • Headache (reported in ~6-10% of users in clinical trials)
  • Hot flashes (5-8%, due to estrogen receptor modulation)
  • Nausea (2-5%)
  • Fatigue (~3%)
  • Dizziness (2-4%)
  • Increased libido (variable, often a desired effect but can be excessive)
  • Mood changes (e.g., irritability or anxiety, ~2-3%)

Less Common or More Serious Side Effects:

  • Elevated estradiol levels (can sometimes lead to gynecomastia or water retention)
  • Increased risk of blood clots (a general risk with SERMs)
  • Changes in liver enzymes (rare, but monitoring is advised)
  • Enlarged prostate (in those predisposed)
  • Sleep disturbances or insomnia

Taking Anastrozole can prevent or reduces estrogenic side effects but you need to make sure you E2 levels are in fact out of range. Talk to your doctor about this.

I appreciate you sending this.

I will get tested Thursday.

We will see

Thank you for the safe advice - it was nice seeing the mood swings only being 2-3%. Makes it slightly less likely but we will see.

My take on this:

If you think your E2 is off, test it. My guess you're in range.

Let's look at what maybe the real issue(s).

First off, you're married so you're going to have some little blowouts. Next, you're moving so there's added stress there on both of you. Lastly, with all the shit you both have going on, you haven't had your bobo honked on recently and never helps any mans mood.

Let the dust settle and after the stress drops, you'll be your old self again.

I’ll tell my wife asap!

Mood swings are probably the most common side effect of enclomiphene. The problem with the studies showing it only to be 2-3% prevalent, is that it is self reporting. Most people refuse to admit they are being moody.

I would bet it’s more related to stress of moving and maybe some lack of sleep. If anything, you should be more calm with normalizing hormone levels. I can tell you might need some personal time with the wife lol

Don’t worry.. you already won this battle lol.

Starting the test blast in June 1st, will be cruising TRT after that.

Waiting on the shipment :)
