Wondering what thoughts are on purchasing this buffalo bar:
http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/splbars1.html

I realize some here use the Duffalo bar but that's pretty $$$. The Ironmind buffalo bar is also $$$. It's basically the same price to be hones I don't see why anyone would even consider it.

I'm not trying to go cheap but I'm planning on purchase a few different bars for training so I have to stretch my dollar as much as I can.

I can't necessarily speak for this specific purchase, but I've dealt with this company for my 6ft Rack, Dip Attachment, etc....no complaints from me...

That's good news. The bar isn't cheap but 2 and change isn't expensive either. I just can't drop 6+ on one bar. I realize I'll be dropping around 7 or 8 for 2 bars and I'm ok with that but that's about my limit.
I'm shocked buffalo bars are so $$$. I plan on getting a bearing Oly bar which isn't cheap either and that's for SS. Probably go with a local company that makes a decent bearing Oly bar.

I may purchase this bar:
https://www.elitefts.com/american-cambered-yoke-bar.html

It's not a buffalo bar but it is a cambered bar and since I'm going to squat with it I don't want to worry about it at all. I could use this bar for GM's and squats. I doubt it would help alleviate shoulder discomfort when benching so I wouldn't bench with it.

For those wondering, I'm going to pick up this bar for Oly lifts:
https://www.lynxbarbell.com/collections/bars-collars/products/oly-training-bar

I have some friends who O-lift and they loved it. I also have some friends who run a CF gym... I know, I know... and they've said the bar ha withstood abuse very well.

So to be honest, these 2 bars would be stretching my budget to it's limit but 2 for the price of a Duffalo bar and I need some more specialty bars. Pretty soon, I'll be ready for my own gym, lol.

FVCK, FVCK, FVCK.... I swapped cars with SS and my Oly shoes were in my car, which she took. So... I had to squat in Nike Frees. Not a good idea but I wasn't willing to scrap the whole workout and I drive 30min each way so I said fvck it and squatted. I did drop Concetric Squats b/c let's be honest, I am stupid but I'm not stupid enough to keep rolling the dice with some shitty shoes. All in all the workout went well so I'm happy I didn't ditch it. I've also decided that in future SST, I'll perform 10 sets of triples for my Speed Work and the %'s I'll use is 60% and 65% bar weight and the chain/ band should bring it to 75% and 80% which seems to work best for me. I didn't get nearly as much when I dropped the %'s to 50% bar and 60% chain.

Well, here's what I did and btw I weighed in at 269.3lbs....

WAVE 2 WEEK 2 DAY 3
SQUAT/ BENCH DAY
Speed Squat (reverse green band)~ 145x3, 235x3, 325x3, 415x3, r.band 445x3, 445x3, 445x3, 445x3, 475x3, 475x3, 475x3, 475x3
Only took 1 min rest in betw sets. Knee sleeves but NO belt.
Close Grip Bench +chain (55lbs)~ bar x many, 95x10, 135x7, 185x5, 210+C x4, 220+C x4, 230+C x4, 240+C x2, f.drop 205+C x6
Hit the J-hooks 2x on my first 2 sets. Elbow sleeves and wrist wraps.
H.S Iso Row~ 90x10, 135x7, 135x7, 135x6

Thinking of buying a Oly shoe with a lower heel. My current heel is .75 but I'm thinking of picking up a shoe with a .6 heel. You may ask will that small difference make a difference in my squat. I actually think it will. I have been looking for a .5 heel but just can't find one.

Every time I wind up having to squat with a something other then my Oly shoes, I seem to be able to squat weight easier. I want to put that to the test and actually switch shoes and see if it helps.

That Olympic bar is a steal for a 10 needle bearing bar , a similar bar in the UK would be around £400.00

Have you considered Risto they do a Russian shoe which is modelled on the old weightlifting boots the Russian's wore with a .5 heel and a low cut powerlifting shoe also with a .5 heel . My wife has the powerlift 2 and they are OK but the heel is quite compressable you might really notice this with your squat . Risto's of course have the holy grail a wooden sole .

I'll check out the Risto's. .5 heel is exactly what I'm looking for and I definitely don't want my heel to compress. That's the biggest reason why I haven't switched to another shoe.

I thinking I'll try to pick up pair of the powerlifts used before I drop almost $200 on a heel height which may or may not work well for me. If they work well then I'll drop the $200. I think Ill check out powerliftingwatch and see if someone is selling some shoes for cheap.

LOL.... You wanna hear something crazy? The new Adidas have a 1" heel. They increased the heal by .25" for the new Oly shoes.
