Well heeeeelllllllooooooo, Nurse ;)

LOL.... All in time.

Going to speak to an advisor this next week. I'm thinking of getting an associates before getting the bachelors. I graduated 12yrs ago and so I can only go back to my old school if I don't want to start completely over. If I went anywhere else, I would have to start back as a freshman. Since I'm going back to my old school, I only have to take 6 pre-req's and then I start back as a junior. I want to talk an advisor to see if I get an associates, if that will make me current meaning I can finish my degree anywhere or will I still need to finish it at my old school. My old school is ranked well in nursing but there's a school here that's ranked top 10 in the nation (ranked 6th and of course it's very $$$).

I'm thinking of trying to my masters from that school. I'd like to work for their hospital so I could attend school for free.

I'll have to see how it all pans out but no matter what I'm not stopping till I get my masters. I'm also thinking an associates could be beneficial b/c I could begin working in the nursing field while I'm still in school. If I wait till I finish my bachelors, I won't have any prior nursing experience. My background is in business and not the medical field.

Solid plan. The associates idea is a little better, I think, than trying to go in with a bachelors and no experience. Besides, getting the associates first gives the employer a chance to get some input on your future education. Especially when it comes to the masters. Right now I am currently on track to have a masters in finance with no experience lol.

No one wanna offer me the money to beat my current pay :D

Good luck in the nursing field. I got a lot of family in that field and it can be stressful as fuk

Are you thinking CFA's? That's a good route and guarantees solid pay. You could also go for fixed asset mgmt or any number of areas. There's foreign exchange market, the derivatives market, etc.... Finance is where I'm leaving. Many in my family are in that area.

I'm thinking the Associate idea is the best route for me too. I can build my nursing resume while in school. Then after my bachelors, I'll take the test to become a R.N. Afterwards, I'm undecided on what specialization route to go.

Look into ER Nursing. I think, given your interest in FF last year(or longer ago?), that it would be the kind of fit you would like. My aunt has been an ER nurse for the last 6 years or so and she loves/hates it :D

I think there are other nursing fields that get paid more, but I have a strong feeling you are not overly concerned with income more so than finding that "niche" in life that suits you best. lol you seem to be looking for something to do as calling, and not just a living.

I am looking into the CFAs now actually. I wanted to take the Level I in December and study like hell for the Level II next June, but they are expensive as shit :(. I am kind of on the fence about what I want to do, but i am trying to get as educationally prepared as possible. My main goal is to find a job in finance, preferably corporate finance or corporate banking, and see where my interests and/or talent actually falls.

Money is always important, but you're right... I want to do something that really makes a difference and something "I" want to do instead of doing what others say I should do. I've thought about Nurse Practitioner, Anesthetist, or Surgical. I want to shadow people in areas of interest so I can see what really sparks that interest.

One thing I also have to see is with the Assoc... what kind of decrease in pay am I going to incur? I know it's going to be a step back to take 2 steps forward. It could be a 2 year drop before the bachelors and then beyond. Luckily, I'm at a place where this is all possible.

Got horrible news this morning. A good friend of SS's was in a car wreck while racing his car yesterday morning. 3 of the 4 people were killed and he's in the ICU with swelling to his brain and broken.. everything.

Strained either my inner thigh so I opted not to push my GM and my Oly front squat. Still not a bad day. Weighing in just under 270. Been eating a little "dirtier" and the weights are moving a lot better. I'll clean it up a bit in the coming week though. Don't want to go over 270.

WAVE 2 WEEK1 DAY 1
BENCH/ SQUAT DAY

Bench~ bar x many, 95x15, 135x7, 185x3, 210x5, 240x5, 240x5, 270x5, 270x5
All sets were paused except the last 270 set. Didn't break out elbow sleeves till 270.
Oly Front Squat~ 135x3, 225x3, 285x3, 315x3, 345x2
No belt. Only wore knee sleeves.
Double Pause Bench~ 205x5, 220x5, 235x4
No elbow sleeves.
Standing Good Morning~ 225x5, 245x3

WAVE 2 WEEK1 DAY 2
DEADLIFT/ OHP DAY

Deadlift~ 135x3, 225x3, 330+C x3, 330+C x3, 360+C x3, 360+C x3, 360+C x3, 360+C x3, 390+C x2, 390+C x2
No belt worn for any set. Broke out Oly straps for 390+C sets.
OHP Machine + red band~ barx15, 45+Bx10, 100+B x5, 110+B x5, 120+B x5, 130+B x4
Wore elbow sleeves.
Misha K. Pulls~ 315x5, 335x5, 355x3
Wore Oly straps
Hammer Curls~ 45x10, 50x7
Back felt a bit twitchy and I trained alone today so I opted to skip the 575 set. I would have performed 575 w/ wraps. I hit 555 w/ sleeves and that is better imho. I also made sure to hit a triple for my r.band set. Weight is at 271.
WAVE 2 WEEK1 DAY 3
SQUAT/ BENCH DAY

Squat~ 145x5, 245x5, 325x3 415x1, 475x1, 535x1, 555x1, r.band 555x3
Broke out sleeves for 415 set, broke out belt for 475 and heavier sets.
CGBP + 55lbs chain~ barx15, 95x10, 135x7, 185x5, 200+C x5, 210+C x5, 220+C x5, 230+C x4
Wore elbow sleeves on all sets. Broke out wrist wraps on 220 and 230 sets.
Concentric Squat~ 235x5, 325x5, 345x5, 365x5
No belt, no sleeve.
Low Cable Row~ 110x10, 130x10, 150x8

sorry to hear...news that rough is never easy to deal with, especially if it affects someone you care about...

funny seeing you talk about not wanting to go back over 270...I can only assume you're really starting to get comfortable health wise at your current BW...especially not being back tracked by annoying injuries...strong work as always...

Yeah, it definitely sucks for SS. The family it making it difficult for anyone to see him which also doesn't help matters.

I am beginning to get comfortable at this lighter weight. I'm confident I'll be able to work my way back up my numbers when I was 15-20lbs heavier. I find injures from the past are coming back to haunt me now. To bad I didn't know back in the day what I know now.

Well... I'm gonna suck it up and I'll be at my current job till I'm done with my bachelors. I should be grateful b/c this job works out perfectly in terms of scheduling classes and it pays the bills so I'll stick it out.

Going to have to figure out what I'm going to do with my training in terms of pushing myself b/c SS is going to be out of the country for a month. An old training partner has made mention of wanting to train with me so I'll have to wait and see if that is actually the case.

On a side note.... training tonight went well. Weight is up a bit (weighed 271). Had to train by myself but still managed to hit 555 for a solid single w/ belt and knee sleeves. I should be on track to hit 600 at this new lower weight without any problems. The real kicker is how will my deads go? I need them back up to 585 by the years end and then back into the 6's after.

Not a bad day... Trained by myself again.. but still managed to do everything I needed to. Also, shoulder felt good and benching felt great. Bar flew up which is always a good thing. Met a new member who is planning on competing in PLing so I may have someone to train with sometimes. He comes in after 1:15pm which is late for me except on Fridays. I normally train at 11am and have to on Mon & Wed.
WAVE 2 WEEK 2 DAY 1
BENCH/ SQUAT DAY

Self lift off for all sets except 320 set. Shoulder felt great and bench flew.
Oly Front Squat~ 135x3, 225x3, 295x3, 325x3, 355x2, f.drop 295x4
No belt. Wore knee sleeves.

Work elbow sleeves. No wrist wraps.
Standing Good Morning~ 135x5, 235x5, 265x5
