Here is the thing. Anything you put in your body has some effect. I'm by no means trying to downplay steroids. I'm just saying that millions of ppl take much more dangerous things into their bodies daily. Eating at mcdonalds twice a week is a hell of a lot worse for you than doing a cycle of steroids every once in a while. Don't believe it? Get your blood work done as suggested. Go on a 3 month moderate dose cycle. Have blood work done. Then later in the year eat nothing but fast food for the same 3 months. Then have blood work done. Let me know the results. There is not a single thing you can put into your body in a large enough amount that won't have negative side effects or flat out kill you. Talk to me about the dangers of steroid use after they make alcohol, tobacco and donuts illegal. All three kill more people annually that steroids have since they have been around. Thats assuming you could say beyond a doubt that any death has 100% been the result of steroid use.

We have all had friends and know people that have died relatively young. Hell, my cousin just died a few years ago of a heart attack. Never did a steroid. He was 43. It pisses me off when people automatically jump to steroids as the cause. How do you know that person wasn't going to have a heart attack anyway? Motherfucker could have lived off of crispy cream and wendy's his whole life and found with 8 grams of coke in his nose dead in a meth lab and if he ever stuck a test loaded needle in his ass it's automatically steroids.

A little under 4 years ago I started having trouble holding onto weight with no changes in my diet. I'd been on my version of TRT for at least 8-10 years (300+ mg test E per week minimum and bumping it up close to a gram during several cycles per year) + a lot of other gear at different times.....eq, var, deca, tbol, gh, etc etc etc. I never had bloodwork done once! After a few weeks of losing weight and noticing some other weird shit (visual disturbances eg swirly shit in my periphiral vision) one night around 1 am I started feeling an INTENSE burning sensation in my lungs - it was the beginning of a massive heart attack. I tried to walk it off - haha.

I "went out" trying to go get my fiance/roommate when i realized this shit was serious. Had she not woken up when my hard ass head hit the deck outside and came to check on what the loud bam was I'd have laid there and died - no doubt! I lost the entire front wall of my heart - it died - just dead meat and scar tissue now. Was in intensive care for 10 days and had a 6 way bypass. This was just the beginning of a continuing medical saga that's included a 2nd heart attack (minor relatively speaking), a collapsed lung, surgical repair of 3 abdominal aneurysm's, implantation of an internal pacemaker/difibrilator, and emergency surgery on a blood clot that occluded ALL blood flow to my right leg (almost lost that mother fucker).

My health's fucked at 58.....B very lucky (or just too fuckin stubborn) to make it to 60. Congestive heart failure is pretty successful at taking people out especially someone with an ejection fraction at 13% and cardiomyopathy etc. Statistically speaking I shouldn't have made it this long. Even doctors I see who I havent seen before tend to go "whoa shit" when they see my chart.

Now, I'm not saying gear had anything to do with my medical issues, But I sure can't say it didn't. My family has a well documented history of heart problems. Grandmother, mother, uncle all had multiple heart attacks. Me, being an overachiever, had a bigger heart attack and more complications. My point is this..... my shit is what it is - doesn't really matter now why it happened. BUT, it certainly is possible, maybe likely, that irresponsible gear usage did play some part large or small.

So, take my experience for what its worth.....I would strongly encourage anyone who's going to be on gear (of almost any kind) longer that average "cycle time" to get your bloodwork done. It could add many years to your life.

Stay safe, Spec

Really sorry to hear this Spectrum. Life is a mother fucker any way you look at it. I'm a few years behind you, still doing heavy manual labor as a carpenter in the mountains of Nor Cal. I have no health problems problems yet, after years of abuse of various drugs. But everyone I love have been dying off over the last few years. We all have our own hell to deal with. I wish you a long life. You deserve it.

Sorry for your troubles boss but what specific tests do you recommend to ID potential heart/cardio vascular issues? To the best of my knowledge these issues aren't caught on run of the mill blood work.

Cardiac blood panal, ekg and echocardiogram is usually the first inventions when diagnosing or treating cardiac issues.

I'm not the best guy to ask probably since I haven't really researched what I should have done specifically after the fact BUT I'd assume a full "blood panel" would be a good start. Possibly tell your doc you have some family history of heart problems - that should insure he tests all the relevant shit. In my experience they don't do echo's unless they suspect blood flow problems but you could ask (IF you have good insurance). EKG's are given much more often and I assume they are much cheaper since echo's require special tech's to administer and specialists to read results.

GOOD START and possibly even sufficient I'd say is the full blood panel and just ask/make sure they check all cardio related shit in the blood test.
If you're all clear after the blood test/s then my guess is you won't need any other testing done unless you have some type of symptoms or suspicions.

It's worth noting that many members/bodybuilders may not have great insurance or be wealthy......hence my suggestion that blood testing may be all that's necessary.

I'm not sure of the cost of echo's, EKG's, cardiac stress tests etc etc. I could look thru my records but I'm too lazy - suffice it to say when you get past blood tests and into more extensive checks it gets REALLY expensive really quick and those are usually reserved for cases where your doc suspects a possible problem after the blood test/s or you're having symptoms that could be related to cardiac issues.

Others that have/do actually check themselves responsibly will hopefully post more specifics and suggestions if they have them.

good talk dudes. my opinion is that taking high doses of aas is similar to taking high doses of vitamins. your body can only use so much and the rest gets pissed out. its why your piss is nuclear bright yellow bordering on floresant green. not sure if certain supplements can harm you taken in excess but I would bet that there is. I never go over 200mg of tren e per wk and usually only use during the summer. same with orals, because of the damage they do to my hdl/ldl, even anavar, I usually only use during the summer. the rest of the year its < - 300mg test e wk, and 300 - 600mg deca wk, and maybe add in masteron e 200mg wk. PLUS 2-4 iu hgh day. im closing in on 60 and got so many compliments this past summer makes me think its working. if your not gonna be making major $$ from it then why ruin your health and cut your working out days short???
