Steroid bust marks largest in city’s history

Approximately $30,000 worth of powder and liquid testosterone was confiscated by the Jennings Police Department (JPD) Wednesday in a bust that marked the largest steroid seizure in the department’s history.

Chase Benoit, 24, of Koll Road in Hathaway was arrested as the suspected ring leader of the steroid manufacturing operation. He was booked in to the city jail on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule III narcotic.

One kilo of powder testosterone was seized in the largest steroid bust in JPD history. The drugs were valued at $25,000 and could have been manufactured into approximately 250 vials of liquid steroids.

$25,000 divided by 250 bottles equals $100 per bottle. So maybe they are estimating the idiotic street value that people ARE willing to pay. But certainly, for a single bottle taking into account only the price of the powder in that vial we are talking a very minimal number (less than $10 per vial depending on the substance and supplier).

For 1 kilo of powder to be used to create 250 bottles (assuming each was a 10ml vial) then the concentration of the substance has to be 400mg/ml (4 grams per vial x 250 vials)... I wouldn't think that there would be that many vials of Test 400 that were made, but who knows. And really this is not that large of a bust. People buy kilos of shit all the time. I'll never understand why they don't hire someone who knows what they're talking about when it comes to this stuff.

Woulda been kinda nice to know how the bust went down. Was it due to local sales to an undercover officer, or was it a controlled delivery from overseas?
