How do you like the slingshot? I’ve read lots of reviews claiming it helps both max lifts and shoulder pain. I totally understand the mechanics of how it helps lift higher weights, but have some doubts on reducing shoulder strain.
How are your shoulders? My right is fine, but left has ached for years.

I have issues with my right shoulder. It may actually be the biceps tendon or even pec. Either way it hurts and limits my bench. I don’t notice a difference with the slingshot. I think it may help someone who’s shoulder pain comes from wide elbows.

That’s kinda what I was thinking. My shoulder has had a minor, nagging burning sensation for years. I’m not sure what the root cause is, but had doubts of the slingshot doing much. I’m sure it provides some support, when loaded, but much of the shoulder movement/rotation will stay pretty similar. My left elbow joint is crooked and points back and inwards. I think the odd/imbalanced joint stacking is was causes the pain. I can’t move both my arms in a parallel path.

I’ve tried a variety of grip widths, elbow positions, back arches, etc and it always acts up when I go heavy-ish. Dumbbells have been much better for me since joints are isolated and not forced on a barbell together.

Squat. Somehow wasn’t paying attention during warm ups and thought I had loaded 315. Cranking out sets thinking how good it felt and that I would get 10 x3 no problems when I realized there was only 275 on the bar. Sad face emoji here.

Bench 165 x10,10,8,8,10 I did the make ups on the low sets but will have to repeat next week because it doesn’t count.
supported db rows 75s 5x10
close grip bench 205x6, 4 135 x10,10
wide out db rows 40s 3x10
quick couple sets db curls on the way out

Happy Groundhog Day
My back and sciatic have been bothering me this week so I had low expectations for today.
SSB 225 5x10
Dead 250x5 320 there seemed to be no neural connection between lower and upper body when I got under bar. As a result I couldn’t hold it. Not sure what’s going on.

When I had bad sciatica a couple years ago in my left leg I could not do leg curls at same weight as my right. Like less than half the weight. And it was because, like you said, I couldn’t make the neural connection to my hamstring. Was really strange.

Turns out that alcohol and cookies do affect inflammation. My knees say so.
squat 315 6x3 last set was 4
