Need help fellas
sad.gif

Had this condition for 22 months now, mainly in my right shoulder. Left shoulder a little bit but it is okay-ish arm. I cannot overhead press and benching causes irritation and pain. I tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder. 2 tears, non full thickness 5mm and 6mm long. left has a "tear" too which is 10% thinning of the tendon.

I had x-rays which came back "unremarkable" which hopefully should mean there is no need for decompresson, right? I found the condition got better on Naproxen but it massively slashes protein synthesis and it really ****ed with my gym progress + once I came off it because you cannot be on it lng term it came right back.

I also have scapula dyskenesia affecting my right shoulder, which is getting better

I had a slight impingement and torn labrum about six-years ago. I had surgery to clean it up a bit and I have no pain in the shoulders. Have you seen an orthopaedic surgeon?

I agree that anytime you injure yourself you need to see an orthopedic specialist who extra special in sports medicine . They are used to working with people who are athletes or work out . In surgeries they'll use heavier cord to sew tendons or double screws etc . Spine injuries go to Orthopeadic too many morons seek chiropractic first no - Orthopeadic let them decide if chiro is needed .

I too tore shoulder labriium in 1996 , surgery was recommended . However I used many of the mobilization exercise one does in physical therapy now as my warm up prior to upper body such as pendulum exercises , my escrima , Kali and sword strikes with heavy wood also loosen up and stregthen the rotator cuff . I want to say my very first anabolic steroid cycle was around then and I added deca to ease the pain along with my exercises . Here it is 2015 at age 50 and I've never had shoulder injury since . That's huge consider I go heavy on delts - presses, lateral raises etc , still teach and practice fighting where I take turnes violently twisting each other's joints . While flexibility is vital , many times that's not the reason for injury it's ususll a imbalance in power or one small area isn't developed like the other half of s body part . You need balance training . Try pendulum 2-4 sets of 20 each direction with 5 pound weight then light set of the exercise . Make sure body is warm

There is a lot you can do in terms of prehab/rehab to help strengthen your shoulder girdle and also keep it mobile. Stick stretches, wall angels, mace swings, band pull aparts, face pulls, etc.....
