Rubber flooring odor

I have purchased a couple restaurant style rubber floor mats to set my dumbbells on. The smell is overwhelming! I have been looking into low VOC mats to purchase. Please share you experience. I have a concrete subfloor with bamboo flooring. 100lbs dumbbells are the max I'll set down. My main goal is to protect the floor and somewhat reduce noise.

Leave them outside for a day or two, then wash with dish soap and water

Ozone generator. Works for almost everything.

If it's like some of the rubber mats I've had, the smell isn't going to wash off. The smell is from the composition of the mat itself. Hope that isn't your case.

Ever since FD came over I can’t get the smell of gay sex out of my bedroom.

We could use your mats. I’m positive we could cover up that nasty chemical stench.
