I'm new here, but I'm hoping for some good advice. I have a torn rotator. I've avoided surgery for a long time. It definately impedes my lifting. Lately it's been getting progressively worse. I don't think I'm going to be able to put it off much longer. Does anyone have experience with this surgery? I've heard good and bad things about it. I'm a little worried about losing the use of my arm for months. Whatever comes of it I'm sure it'll be better than it is now. Please give me a little feedback. Thanks

I've had the MRI. It was a few years ago. Like I said, I've been putting it off. The only thing left to do is surgery. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this surgery and if they re-gained most of their strength and range of motion. I'll admit I'm a little nervous about someone cutting into my shoulder. I just had a new MRI and I'm going to see a specialist. I think I'm going to wait till the end of summer for the surgery. There's just too much great stuff going on to be chicken-winged for the summer.

make sure to see a sports medicine specialist. a reg shoulder specialist that isnt involved in sports type injuries will tell you different from one who is.

On the positive side you'll have all the time in the world to build up the biggest wheels in the biz!

A sports injury specialist will get you thru proper PT.
