Alright guys this is my off season log getting ready for Raw Unity meet in January.

I just started POB's off season program.

Yesterday (08/10/15) I started with:

Bench press- 300lb 5 sets of 5, each set seemed to get progressively better.

Tempo squats- 225 3-0-3 5x5, I took it a little easy just because I've never done tempo squats and was scheduled to train legs today.

Dips- 3 sets of 10 with 45lb plate.

Today:

Squats- 6 sets of 3 with 345 for the first 3 sets, and 365 for the last 3. Warmups felt heavy so I didn't want to go too heavy plus I did tempo squats yesterday. (probably not the best idea to have trained today)

Box deadlifts- 365 for 5 sets of 5. I actually liked this and 365 felt like a good weight for todays 5x5. I saw this on the Sheiko seminar on Mark bells youtube, and have been wanting to give them a try since then.

Paused Squats with light band- did 225 for 3 sets of 7, weight felt heavy but I attribute that to the squats and deads before this.

Overall It was a great workout, I look forward to seeing how much stronger I can get before starting his Peaking program for RUM.

Nice to see you have a log going and a great coach. Impressive numbers for 170! Do you have past meet numbers and what are looking at for a total Come January?

Current Meet numbers are S:468.5, B: 347.5, and D: 545. That was without a full peaking program either. My goal is to total close to 1500 by January. I have to agree I have great coaching between SAD and POB. I got really into powerlifting when I started training with SAD, he's the one that really showed me how great this sport is.

The best of the best 165 lb raw lifters always show up for RUM, so I admire your willingness to do battle. Your numbers are excellent. I look forward to following your progress and watching you on the platform.

They're coming out of the woodwork.... Great to see another PLer and you do have 2 very good coaches.

I'm excited to try box deadlifts. How did you like them? I'm definitely going to put them into my programming.

Make sure you are getting in 30 to 35 warm up reps before work sets. When you say the bench got better as sets progressed that makes me wonder what the ramp up looked like.

Something like

135 , 5,5,5
185 x 5
225 x 5
255 x 5
280 x 1
300 x 5 x 5

bar x 10
135x10
185x5
225x5
275x3

then started my sets.
