Missus had a nice roast chicken dinner ready for when i got in from work last night so got to eat with the family which was good, put me in a great mood ready for training. Dropped another Kg in weight so down to 95 now but more importantly for me my waist measurement has dropped again. Lost 2" now since end of July so finally starting to believe i'm getting somewhere. Although i did deflate myself a little as i use some basic calipers for BF% measurement and i think i've been doing it wrong, when i did it the way i think i should be my reading jumped by about 6-7% :( BUT i do think i'm getting more definition and my strengths going up so staying positive.

Wednesday - Day 3 - Madcow/Shoulders

Squat

75 x 5
95 x 5
115 x 5
115 x 5

Standing strict Barbell Press

45 x 5
55 x 5
62.5 x 5
72.5 x 3 *PR* (still not 5 but 1 more then last week and the 4th was nearly there)
60 x 6

Wide Grip upright row

57.5 x 5
57.5 x 5
57.5 x 5
Felt i was cheating these too much so
40 x 6 slow
40 x 6 slow
40 x 6 slow

Dumbell front raise into lateral raise

10 x 6
10 x 6
10 x 5
10 x 5
10 x 5

Face Pulls (first time trying these, quite liked them really felt it in between shoulder blades)

5 sets 40kg x 10

Today is supposed to be rest day but again i'm sat at work doing sweet FA reading everyone elses logs and getting worked up again so thinking about doing an "arm" workout tonight as i don't normally train arms as such and i know the tricep work will come in useful for strongman.

face pulls are addicting. I do them before every session personally.

Keeps my back tight for squats

Keeps traps and lats tight for bench

Gets bloodflow and warms up the muscles for deads.

Nice work beng

It's nice to see another guy training strongman, bro. Those weights in Kg's are definitely on the respectable side for someone starting out like you are.

I have been doing it since April and am only a little bit ahead of you.

Can't believe it's been nearly a year since i last posted in here, its not been a good year training wise. Had a number of distractions in real life and took my eye off the ball back reading this shows me just how far i've dropped which is even more depressing and motivating to get back into it. I've still been training through the year but struggled to get a decent run in and so have been missing alot of targets. On the plus side i have a new kitchen which means the boss is happy and i've encroached into a new sport Highland Games! We spend alot of time in Scotland anyway and now i have another excuse and potential money to pay for it! (Won £120 at one games this year) also managed to get my 3 kids (6,8 and 11) up the highest mountain in the UK with minimal complaints which was awesome as well! On the downside i'm carrying two injuries one of which is really giving me some issues, I sprained my ankle at the beginning of the year so any moving events have been difficult and made my ankle mobility even worse then it was before so squats are SH*T at the mo, but the really annoying one is somehow i aggravated my Sciatic and that is really pissing me off! Its so hit and miss i have good and bad days, sometimes it doesn't affect my lifts at all, others i can't even put my socks on.
So i've come back to this log and getting back into being active rather then just lurking, I train at home other then weekly strongman sessions so motivation is hard and the guys i train with are quite young/no real commitments so trying to explain i couldn't train cause of X Y and Z family issue or was tired because..... is a no go, here its always been understood and accepted.
Enough of the pity parade:

150kg x 1 Screw this

No energy, could hardly move the bar, back started to ache. Called it a night. Had only had about 1000cal that day so don't know if that helped or the fact i'd had a pizza at work the night before that i was still feeling shite from? Tonights another night though, work today but shoulders tonight which i always enjoy training so fingers crossed.
Sorry for the long post hopefully i'll stay on top now and push forward.

Think yesterdays vent helped, wasn't really feeling it when i left work (sat on my arse for 12hrs) but it was shoulders and despite it being my weakest area i enjoy training it. So tea and then preworkout and out i went:

Monday: Late training 8:30pm, quick in and out as work again at 5:30.

Squats-
20kg x 10
20kg x 10
70kg x 5
87.5kg x 5
105kg x 5
105kg x 5

Strict press-
20kg x 10
20kg x 10
42.5kg x 5
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
67.5kg x 5

Wide Grip Upright row-
60kg x 5 x 4
60kg x 7 (AMRAP)

Wide grip face pulls-
40kg x 10 x 3

Back felt good while training, had my thin belt on for squats but went thick for strict press with usual rehband sleeves and wrist wraps. Suffering today though my ass and all down the back of my legs is killing me, got my lacrosse ball however so just sat in my chair rolling it around.

Yesterdays intake - 1714Cals 51g Fat/170 Carb/146g Protein.

Nice work Beng, and dang you've got a nice strict press. You sure that's a weak area? heh

Ha i appreciate that Chris but its very poor compared to the guys i train with, need to add at least another 30kg on it to even have a chance.
