I am sadder to hear this than when my father's wife of 40 yrs passed a few months ago.
Dogs are the greatest

Want to know who really loves you: put the wife/girlfriend/significant other in the trunk of your car. Put your dog in the trunk with her. Go for a long ride.

Open the trunk and you tell me which one is happy to see you....Love our dogs.

Sorry for your loss, my friend!...I know the feeling...Had a few go on me thru the years as well...Like NC pointed out, they are/can be man's best friend!...Again, sorry for this...

oh no Penny! I'm soooo sorry @two_slug . Our furbabies are very special to us....for sure. I'm sure you gave her a great home and much love and were the best furdad! You gave her a great life and you should be proud.

((hugs))

They take a piece of your heart with them when they leave us. You can find slightly varying versions of The Rainbow Bridge poem online … it's childlike af, but I get a little comfort from it every now and then when I feel the need. Gives me a glimpse at what I'd like my afterlife to be.
