Interesting thread

I ran 200 a week for a few years, tested at 1200 my primary care physcian freaked.

AS time goes on and data comes in things change.

Seems like everyhing else, your results will vary.

Just read an article on longevity, ie, living into 90's to 100 where they monitored folks blood for 30 years.

One thing they said cholesterol seems to be one of the biggest players, along with inflammation.
Prior to my going anti-aging doc my best cholesterol levels were low/no carb and keto diet. I have a freezer w/ about 400lbs of beef. 20-25/days/month are beef and my cholesterol levels are better now than when I was in my 20's doing high carb BB diet.

Docs get reeled in on the latest "scientific" craze and get pushed by big pharma now. Just 4 year ago a new primary scripted me Chol meds but failed to address my diet. I was still doing moderate to high carb. Absolutely nothing in my diet has changed except the absence of carbs. Even having a handle of liquor every 10 days or so, my liver enzymes were good and my cardiologist was perplexed saying my heart health was in my 20's.

Diet and genetics are big pieces of the puzzle.

I tried the low carb/keto thing and it is great for fat loss, but found it to be catabolic if you are a bodybuilder. Once you get lean enough and your fat stores have dwindled, your body starts turning to muscle for energy through gluconeogenesis instead of fat. If you are a bodybuilder, I have found it is better to cycle your carbs based off your training. It keeps the energy levels still relatively high even when you get down to 5-6% bodyfat and doesn't crush your thyroid like a low carb/keto diet. Once you are lowering than that, energy levels suck no matter what.

You are 100% correct on the genetics playing a big piece. You had to go to a low carb/keto diet to get your cholesterol under control. I can eat anything I want, literally could eat McDonalds 6 times a day and my cholesterol will be fine. Even running gear that historically kills your cholesterol, the highest my cholesterol has been in the last 25 years is around 120. However, I have blood viscosity issues even when I don't run anything if I eat red meat. My iron uptake is freaking ridiculous.

I took a gander at the reddit trt forum. There are a bunch of clowns saying their docs put them on 200-250mg trt a week. They post their pics. Not that smart nutrition and training aren't effective, but this isn't trt. It's whatever you call a cycle that never ends. They just don't want to publicly admit it.
Docs as in HRT clinics? Also young guys are wasting their HPTA in their 20s

Just another thing you are 100% correct on brother. Why I always liked and respected you.

This shit has been killing me for a while. A 20 something male walks into a TRT clinic and comes back with a total test of 800. I don't know about you, but I made most of my growth at 800. The TRT clinic will tell them, we can get you to 1100-1200 and they bite.

I have a client right now who is 30 years old and had no idea when he started TRT, it was for life. He thought he was just going to cycle on and off. The TRT clinic either didn't make him aware or he is just too stupid to know. I am kind of leaning towards the stupid part, since I started working with him. I mean he had to send me pictures of how many ml of test he needed to load in the pin to get 100 mg. He couldn't even do the math. Good job Army. His test levels were fine before he started.

. . . . Docs get reeled in on the latest "scientific" craze and get pushed by big pharma now . . . .
I have come to that same conclusion. My (current) PCP is a partner in an Internal Medicine group, which in turn is affiliated with 1 of the 2 hospital "empires" that has swallowed up my neck of the woods. He wanted to put me on Eliquis, a blood thinner that is now on the government's top 10 list of overpriced drugs to go after. Coincidentally(?), it is still under Patent protection they had persuaded the gov't to extend ... there are no cheaper generics available yet.

I am asymptomatic, and the CBC part of my lab work has all markers within "Normal" btw. I discussed this with the Doc, and it was like a discussion with a used car salesman. I am holding off on firing the doctor so far simply because most of them in my area may practice Medicine with similar priorities, but I didn't buy the used car.

Oh ... welcome to TID :).

This is on 125mg test e, shots on M/W/F

On this dose for 5 months. Didn’t miss a shot. Did a shot Wednesday, blood was drawn Friday at 630am.

Estradiol was 34 on 10mg aromasin on days there weren't shots. So, 4 days a week.

Doing this myself. Doc sees it but nothing else.

Can't remember my starting dose but I always manipulated my results to get a higher dose. This is primarily care doc. 110mg 2x wk. For me to carry on the charade I can only use acetate or prop esters. I do have 4 months till my next test so back on long esters for the first time in 10 years, hopefully I don't screw up timing.

You'll be monitoring things with DIY labs during the 4 months to make sure your switch to longer esters makes the charade work, yes?

Probably not, I should! but because I know my baseline and I know what he determines is acceptable I'm hoping my math skills don't fail me. If not my rx is single dose vial so in theory I should trash 45% of vial. I will say my wife accidentally did the whole vial. I've been seeing the doc for over 10 years so one fuck up should be acceptable.

I had to talk out a buddy of mine at work in his 20s not to get on trt. I think he tested in the 600s. Said he has no energy but he’s a workaholic. He works full time at our job then has his own company doing side work after we get off. He has a one year old at home too. And he wonders why he has no energy. He was about to start trt and I had a good talk with him and he decided not to do it thank god. These clinics are just trying to make money and will convince anyone that walks in the door or website and try to get them on trt. Not to mention peptides too. At crazy prices. Your total test if 800 but your free test is low. You need trt. Fuck no you don’t!

That’s 125mg a week split in 3 doses or is it 375mg total a week? Bloodwork makes me think 375mg a week. Looks about right for that dose imo.
