Man...that is tough. Thoughts and prayers are with you brother.
But, to be a bit tough on both of us, we can not apply personal issues to a national problem. The government simply can not handle every issue as if they are our family or parent. (That is what they want us to think, but it simply can not be this way).
I have experienced similar tragedy and hardship - even to the point of sibling death. I didn't look didn't look then and I don't look now to any politician to heal those wounds or prevent the tragedy. And, I don't expect another family to bear the burdens that we have had to bear.
Again, I am deeply sorry for your issues. But Obama and Romney (dems nor repubs) can not fix that issue. They can temporarily relieve your issue BUT it is at someone's expense and at the expense of our country.
There is no way I can effectively relay what is in my heart and why I believe what I believe. As you said, it is personal. As such, it will only cause a deeper divide to try and sway each other.
But healthcare needs some serious revamping. I say this because of my daughter that has a cronic autoimmune issue. what will happen to her when she is no longer able to fall under my medical coverage having a pre-existing condition.
to get personal for a bit....because of her condition, my wife and I experienced thousands and thousands of dollars in out of pocket cost. Why do you ask...beccause according to the rules she did not fall into a particular category for coverage.
For example....to surpress her overly active immune system, she receives chemo therapy. unfortunately these chemo drugs destroy a woman's chances of having kids later in life. and with my daughter being a teenager, the coverage will not cover her eggs being havested. Now if she were married and age 21yrs (this is what we were told) she would have been covered. So what happened was that my wife and I had to pay $15,000 for the procedure and $1200 annually to store her eggs until she is ready to have my grandkids. I agree with the annual cost....but wish the cost of the procedure were shared by my insurer.
Now I can't say with 100% certainty, that Obama's healthcare plan will cover challenges like this, but IMO his plan addresses issues like this....more so than Romney's.
