POWER RED DONATION

My RBC was getting up there so I did a power red donation. I have no sides, anyone else ever do it ?

I do a double/power red every time, but keep an eye on your ferritin and iron stores (labs). Just a regular donation hits pretty hard, but doing a double moreso (power in Red Cross-speak).

I’ve done regular donations a bunch of times but not a power red donation.

How are you feeling? Exhausted?

I’ve done power red on a couple occasions. Personally, I prefer regular donation. I’m able to go every 56 days for a regular, but a power red requires 112 days break.
I felt / feel I benefit more from going every 56 days.
Did I feel a difference between the two? I didn’t.

I was banned until 2023. I donated blood and was banned again. No I'm not contaminating blood supply. Being lazy and don't want to type it out

Im dealing with low iron now so I try to limit phlebotomies.
Just had an iron infusion yesterday so hopefully I will feel better in a few weeks.
I feel like shit when it goes down to that level.

I've done power red when my crit got way up there from drol. I prefer whole blood and am fine if I donate every 2 months.

If you do Power Red then you can't donate for 4 months. I did that power red donation to red cross, then went to a private blood bank 2 months later and gave whole blood, and then got back on a regular whole blood schedule with the Red Cross. I've never had any issues since, but I donate regularly like clockwork.
