Thoughts on the rule changes for allowing the 12-6 elbows (ala the one that got Jon Jones DQ'd form his only loss).

And,

Unless your knee or hip is down touching the mat, then you are not considered as a grounded opponent saving you from knees and kicks. So no more just touching the mat with your hands or fingers.

***All strikes still have to be legal places of striking....no back of the head or spine etc.

I'm fine with the changes, but i'm not a fighter, lol.

I saw that, but the vid was better than reading about it, thanks. This is gonna really help keep the pace moving. Guys cannot stall on the side of the cage. Grapplers cannot simply change levels for a TD and hold a guy on the cage. Ewwww baby, don't lock down your guard and defend punched because those elbows be a comin!

Also benefits grapplers with TDs. A guy cannot put his hip on the cage and bend at the waste with one hand on the ground to keep from getting taken down.

I have never had a MMA fight. I have sparred MMA and this seems like a realistic move that was holding fighters back. I am looking forward to seeing it. Might take a while as these guys have trained NOT to do this for so long, it might be ingrained in their muscle3 memory. We shall see.
