Welcome to the Den. I used to use a belt when I started working out in 1993 when I was 19. I used a weight belt from the time I was 20 until 24. I stopped using belts so I could strengthen my back and haven't used one ever since. My lower back gets a good workout when doing RDL, squats, and Stiff Leg DL.
