What's up guys and gals. Ive been lurking and not posting much lately. I am hoping to enter a physique show in September. I am around 17% I'm guessing. I also have a professional conference at the end of June that I would like to be seeing good abs for. I will take weekly progress pics. These pics are completely cold with a little ab tightening. I literally walked in the bathroom from sitting on the couch. I'm the softest and least muscular version of me that I've been in years. Using injuries as an excuse to be lazy and take days or intensity off more than necessary. I've also been downright horrible on the nutrition side of things

Please give me all the constructive criticism and advice you care to offer. I have put in some reading and have a decent understanding of the final cut requirement and basic show prep. That said, I am a complete and total newbie to the world of competition. Let me know if you think I'm even able to do a show by then. I will reschedule if necessary.

I am 6 feet tall and started at 238 lbs on Monday and am 225 lbs today, 5 days later. Most of that is simply water weight from dropping my carbs so low. I had been eating anything not glued down for weeks.

I tested myself using ketosis strips and am currently in moderate ketosis. Slight headache and a little brain fogging, but that should go away by next week from what I understand.

Eating:

3500 cals
200 ounces of water
382 grams of protein
44 grams of carbs (only 7 sugars)
191 grams of fat (no trans)
Supplementing:
Multivitamins
Calcium and vitamin d
Magnesium
Potassium

3 different training sessions daily, 7 days a week:

1 1/2 - 2 hours of weight training
30-45 minutes of light cardio
30 minutes alternating calves and abs
And posing starting next week every day.

Thanks everyone.

I should be shaved and in good lighting Tuesday. I'll even get a shot of the mini shriner car tires I have for wheels. I'm built like a golf tee. I'm not flexing at all in the original posts pics, but they are giving me better definition than I have. Saying this so you have context of how I really look.

You look great man! You're gonna do great.

You should start a training journal in the log section. I'd like to follow for sure.

You look good! My guess is that you're lower than 17% BF. Are you going to keep carbs low the entire time or are you going to cycle the carbs and replenish glycogen weekly?

Thanks Turbo. I'll lay out the basics here and start a log next week. I have a Dr. appt Thursday to see what's going on with my back. New and old low back garbage. We all know that pain...

Those are nice pics Tommy. I will post some tomorrow in good lighting and pumped for a real look at what I am.

Carbs will be low until I feel I can't perform well in the gym. Then I will recarb every 4 to 7 days. Right now I'm doing pretty well with it. I may experiment with dnp at some point during this cut (never used it). If I do, I will raise my carbs to around 100 to 120 grams daily...but keep the same calorie total.

Give yourself some credit dude...you're starting to dial in and have a great base to work with. And as tommy said, you look lower than 17%

By the way, sick traps, no homo.

Thanks UHC. I'm definitely lower now. I'm posting some updates in a minute. I've gotten lucky with traps. I don't do anything special compared to anyone else. I'd trade them for wheels in a sec...lol.

Tuesday May 3rd.

16 1/2 pounds down. Had a few extra pieces of 35 calorie bread this weekend and slowed weightloss. Back on it Monday morning and back losing.. Had a great workout compared to what's been going on lately in the weightroom. Killed it with the strongest guy I know. He's so much stronger that you push as hard as you can for less embarrassment
