I can usually eat just about anything pre-w/o by adjusting the time after eating it before lifting. I just like a small meal, nothing heavy and to train 1-2 hours later....actually prefer 90-120 minutes mostly. I don't train for long sessions, about an hour, then hit my post-w/o meal/shake. Anyway, just started the following pre-w/o, lol:

170 grams NF Greek Yogurt (plain)
1T Splenda
25 grams whey (True Nutrition Red Velvet)
17g collagen

Mix that up, then add:

41 grams of rice crispies.

Stir it up and chill it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.

It tastes like a cheesecake flavor almost. You can eat it immediately after as well, and it has a crunchy texture. Both are cool, but I prefer waiting as it has a spongy mouth texture. I need to try other flavors of protein. I'm sure any would work. I'll try chocolate tomorrow, but I also just ordered their Lemon and marshmallow flavors that should come in later this week. I imagine it could be eaten anytime of the day or night as well.

Pretty much my preworkout meal until I get to about 4-6 weeks out from a show and need to reduce carbs.

50 g quick oats
(1) scoop Mutant Iso Surge Chocolate Whey
100 g banana
125 g egg beaters

Blend it up and make some pancakes with some Walden Farms syrup or sugar free jelly. If it's a high carb day, I top it off with half a can of pie filling (apple, cherry, blueberry or blackberry). If I am running low on time, I just drink it.

In the past I used to eat 2 granola bars and a scoop of protein. Now I’m eating a regular meal 3 hours before, and then about an hour before protein and some oats. Nothing fancy.

If I don't eat at least 45 minutes before training, I feel full and bloated in the gym, and thus, unless I'm trying to gain, I work out in a fasted condition. When I do eat before, I do 50g oats mixed with 1.5 scoops protein blend, with some splenda on it. If I'm feeling frisky, I'll cut 1/2 banana slices in the mixture, add water, and microwave, and add the splenda at the end. Tastes pretty good.

Yea, my pre-w/o meal is more about just feeling good by time I hit the gym. Some easy digesting proteins, carbs, and maybe a tad bit of fat here and there. Greek yogurt is a more slowly digesting protein, but using only 170g is a pretty small portion, which also plays a factor.

I don't do intra-w/o's, as I eat, then my training is not entirely too long, and then I like my post w/o shake...more traditional set-up. If I were using insulin, i'd use an intra, but i'm not really trying to gain size right now at this point either (not that insulin can only be used for size). As long as I feel good going into the w/o, it's the most important thing for me.

It's funny how it kind of evolves as you age. I remember in HS as a teenager, I could go out for lunch and hit up a cheeseburger and fries and feel awesome by time we got back and hit up PE (or after school gym a few hours later). Always felt strong. I may be able to get away with that still these days as long as I limit it to 1 burger, which I never can do, hahaha.

When I am trying to limit the carbs, 125 g Jasmine rice and 130 g of ground venison or lean ground beef does the trick. Salt the hell out of it and I get some pretty nasty pumps.

Just wanted to note that I usually stick with the same flavor of protein and hardly stray away from them, but i've used both Marshmallow Treat and Lemon Cake with this recipe, and they are phenomenal! Used them both in my almond milk or fresh milk/powdered oats/Splenda drinks, and they are equally as good as well. Both are from True Nutrition. The marshmallow may be too sweet for some people, but I like it. The lemon tastes like a lemon-coconut flavor to me, but is super good.

So far, outside of Chocolate, red velvett and cookies & cream, these are my favorites. I did like strawberry and raspberry from years back as well.

My favorite workout meal comes from Dairy Queen but apparently my coach hates me and so I have a shake before. I prefer Whole Foods but I will puke my guts out if I eat solid food before I train.
