Jipped is always a lean MF, so rotisserie chicken is okay where he is coming from. In your case, not the greatest option. They are loaded with fat. At least in the US they are. They inject butter, oil, you name it to make it taste great. You probably noticed even the white meat is a little greasy compared to a regular chicken breast.

If you are a beginner, I would set goal weights and eat to that weight. Instead of having an ideal weight, which may be far off and brings your calories really, really low, instead pick something in the middle.

If you are natural (not on TRT or using PEDs) you need 50-60 g of dietary fat a day to maintain your endocrine system. I would actually increase your protein intake. The 1.6 g per kg is outdated and is more used as a recommended daily minimum now. Not ideal for building muscle or losing fat. I would shoot for 2.2-2.4 g per kg. Now you know how many grams of protein you need, how many grams of fat you need, so you adjust carbs to lose or gain weight. It actually is that easy.

Should I base the 2.2 grams on my current weight it closer to my target weight? I was 250 lbs the last time I was at a good healthy body fat. I'm like 80" tall so 250 is probably really good for me

Depends on your GI. I have dropped 30 lbs at my max since I could pack in the food. I got GERD and other GI issues so no more packing it in. I usually get in 200 grams per day and that is enough to hold what I have or recomp to 3-5% more lean tissue.

All of the information in this thread is too complicated and confusing for my pea sized brain to comprehend. Thus, after 45 years of doing this, I'm ready to tap out................................................well, maybe not.

So this is where there's a nuance that I'm not sure about. I am overweight quite a bit. I've heard it's better to bulk before you cut if you're at this stage that I'm at because building the muscle will be easier when you have the fat supply. My height and my build I think about 210 240 lb is my ideal weight that's 95 to 108 kg. I actually with almost 200 kg.

So do I eat for what my ideal weight is or for what my weight actually is? I assume it's just based on what the scale says since it just says per kilogram of body weight.

Okay well I already started responding before I read the entire post but thank you that's really the information I was looking for. If that's the case I'm getting very close to my amount of protein I just need to make sure that that's consistent.

Thank you for the advise
Are you serious? Unless I don't understand what you posted are you saying you weight 440lbs (200kg)? If that is the case, you seriously need to learn to eat a balanced diet and how to exercise. You say you have been living off of bread and potato chips so you are no doubt have a huge nutrient deficiency. I suggest you see a doctor ASAP and do a Comprehensive Vitamin Panel among other blood test to make sure you are healthy enough to even do exercise. Your doctor may have to prescribe you vitamins to over come any deficiencies you may have. Dude, you are most likely very unhealthy with the diet you consumed and no doubt lack of exercise to be at this weight. At your point protein is not the biggest concern, it is all the nutrients that the body needs to function properly. After that supervised full body workouts will be good until you get your cardiovascular system healthy and some of that weight off. Right now instead of being on a board that consists of guys who are bodybuilders, you honestly need to see a doctor. Building muscle (bulking) is not important at all right now.

You have been doing that for about a year and I'm downtown like 380 now. My American brain does not compute the metric system.

Yeah I've done all that time eating proper nutrients taking the right supplements.

Over the past year I've lost about 60 pounds so I think I'm making good progress

Like I said I've done all that I've changed eating habits and activity habits the way the doctor recommended and I'm wanting to take the next step.

So keep doing what you are doing. You don't need to even think about this bulking stuff until you get you bodyweight down to where you are healthy. Yes, you are making good progress.

much of what I'm doing is weight training. I'm not sure about the nutrition and of things. The body weight will go down just the nature of not being a couch potato anymore. Strength also helps burn up fat stores.

I saw this guy swimming and he had an excellent physique, and for the first time in a long time I felt that is attainable for me. He wasn't a body builder and I don't think that's my goal either. Maybe this is the wrong place for me.

I think I'm getting the right amount for what I'm trying to do with regard to protein.

Thanks for the encouragement.
