that vertical press, is that for tris or the chest?
's
It's for the chest. You push forward instead of upwards, that's why it's called vertical bench press sometimes.

Can a beginner also adopt this plan or there is some different plan for beginners?

By plan, do you mean routine? I change my workouts every 3 months or so. I know you registered at WCBB earlier, you can check out my training journal there (I started posting there in 2006).

As you know, the doc told me to take it easy for a while (b/c of the abnormal CPK values). I only hit the gym twice in a week (I did shoulders, bis and tris on Tuesday and 20 min arm bicycle earlier today). It's really hard not to workout every day :(

I know how you feel MG. I miss one day at the gym and I get all out of whack. I'll feel lethargic and like I'm gaining unwanted fat if I go 2 days or more without resistance training or cardio.

I'm back at the gym but only did 15 min arm bicycle and a bit of shoulders and tris today. I really need my daily dose of exercise.

LOL, thank you. I always do like 300 abs EOD. A fellow mod at WCBB told me to keep going even if it hurts :)

I had a stressful day (doing CPR and passing an exam to get my certificate), so all I had the energy for when I got back home was

Warm up: 10 min arm bicycle
Chest: bench press, vertical press, pec deck: 4 sets (15, 12, 10, 8)
Cool down: 10 min arm bicycle
