This power wheel is from Europe so I can't plug it in to US outlets to charge. The previous owner said if I use an adapter that it would fry the battery. I assume I can get a different plug thing to charge the battery and that would work? I don't want to fry the battery as I got this thing for free and I'm trying to give it away to a family member without spending a lot of money.

Yea, that is for 220v 50hz. We run 60hz in us. NOT compatible.

But no worries, you are only concerned about output. Just get a 12v 800ma charger off ebay. Cut end off and splice on the 120v AC 12v dc charger you buy.
