Found this and thought I would share. Dense read, but names the 3 mechanisms of muscle hypertrophy and provides guidelines for programming and insight into the blending of powerlifting/ bodybuilding training to maximize hypertrophy

Basically it says hypertrophy is caused by :

-Mechanical tension
-muscle damage
-metabolic stress

It opened my eyes to the fact that I wasn’t addressing each of the mechanisms. Hopes it helps out some of you as well

Thank you for posting this study by Dr. Schoenfeld. I believe he is right on the money. This also gets into the idea of sarcoplasmic hypertrophy and microfibril hypertrophy. As you know Ronnie Coleman worked out 6 days a week. Half the workout was more like a powerlifter and the 2nd, 3 days was more typical of bodybuilding. This blend of lifting made him one of the most dense BB'er ever. Louie Simmon's West Side Training protocol also utilizes BB and powerlifting training.
