MMA rounds 5 minutes (max 5 rounds)
Boxing rounds 3 minutes (max 12 rounds)

Severe advantage to Mayweather

How often have we watched many MMA fighters get gassed in the 3rd round and higher.....MMA fighters hope to get the win in the first round, thus they use up most of their energy. Fighters on the other hand have a different mindset, they reserve their energy for the later rounds...Sprint versus Marathon.....

McGegor isn't the most aerobically gifted MMA guy I've ever seen either, Add to that the fact that Mayweather IS in fact one of the most aerobically gifted boxers I have ever seen. It's like making an average sprinter long distance race the worlds greatest marathon runner. First round will be wild, second round so-so, Third - sixth round shit. Once Mcgregor is fully winded Mayweather will likely (hopefuly) seize the opportunity for an easy KO.

He'd sucker punch, and say it was legal.
But it's really the only way to settle this deal...

it's insane how tired you can get in those 3 minutes.

i think that ultimately MMA can be MORE tiring per minute once you're grappling. that shit is exhausting AF. but Conor isn't really a grappler, which is why he gets tired AF in MMA, and he's not a real boxer either. so...? i think it's just not likely that he can go the distance.

The lead up and pre-fight interviews, press conference, etc. will be very entertaining. The fight itself will be awful.

That's my birthday just hoping they make it an exciting event. It should not be all about boxing. Conor as a MMA should be allowed to use his style Mayweather should be the one having the ability to take on a MMA. If they are allowed to fight using their own styles then the match will be worth the watch.

That's the point that has been discussed since the event was made official grenden.

It IS all about boxing, in this case, the rules, the shape and size of ring, and the gloves themselves, it's all in Mayweather's favor. I don't follow too many other sports, but boxing has adopted an old term from the record industry in recent yrs, in a big match one fighter is unofficially considered the A side, the other is the B side. That refers solely to box office appeal, which is often but not always the guy who is favored to win anyway by pro gamblers. It recognizes who will bring the promoters more income, and gives that fighter more negotiation clout on many things.

No matter how big Conor is in MMA, Mayweather IS the A side here. Consider that some of those highest earning lists of athletes have ranked Mayweather tops, any sport, anywhere, for several yrs now. By contrast, LeBron is top 10, but not close. A few soccer players most Americans don't think twice about are closer to Mayweather for example. Many sports writers theorize that even Conor knows he has little chance of winning, but he is glad to make WAY more in this event than he ever did in MMA. I think Pacquiao was #2 worldwide that one year he and Mayweather had their (disappointing) big showdown, but his market value has slipped since.

All that is why May got every factor agreed upon in his favor, why he will almost certainly win, and why McGregor is happy to participate anyway.

"Late breaking news on ticket prices"

they went on sale for the live fight IN that arena already, pricey and hard to get. Tix will already be available for select other PPV venues in Vegas, mostly other major casino-hotels.

you can get it pumped into your home for around $100.

For only a few "PPV" fights that are judged to have sufficient interest, they will be available in (a few) local movie theaters as well. According to fandango.com, that will be the case here. Prices? the PPV for your home, around $100. In a theater, less than half, may vary slightly by where you live. In my area it is $42 + $2 service charge.

In a theater there can be the disadvantage of an unruly audience, but, hell, this ain't the opera or a poetry reading. It can get worse when the audience is mostly 2 races, as are these fighters. Otoh, many like the extra buzz from being among other fans in public. And, that LARGE screen beats anything your home can offer. If alcohol or other things are important, you can do what you want at home, not in theaters in my state, not sure about other states.

Take your pick . . . . . . FYI

Well, the fight was A LOT better then what everyone expected. Conner made it to round 10 and didn't start to get winded until round 9 so say what you want but he did a helluva job last night.
