Nice! I have 2 more week on crutches (I will get the official word tomorrow) and then I will be back to doing upper body. That will be a little over 17 weeks post shoulder surgery. But I have pubic pain and sports hernia MRI was negative, so I may have what is called osteitis pubis, but the problem is I have not been doing anything for really about a year so in theory it should have healed anyway...
Agreed, slow ans steady wins our race.
I did take a seminar and learned that grafts from cadavers for ACL repair have been shown to have the highest rates of failure. Seems your own patellar tendon turned out the best option after all. For a while cadaver grafts were very popular and all the athletes I worked with had them.
Also had a seminar on overuse injuries and research still supports that it is not an inflammatory condition and NSAIDS actually impede recovery (and to add we should not be using them regulary anyway as they also impede hypertrophy).
Finally got a 45 on the bar for bench! Yup, I now can do 135 for 12 reps in the bench with almost no discomfort.
Working on my shoulder flexibility to go low bar in the squat. Actually got there last week but damn it didn't feel good even with 185 on the bar.
Hope everyone had a nice New Year and here's to better days ahead.
