Have you tried low dose selegiline? It helped me when I was going through cancer treatments.

Hmm.. I've seen references to that a few times but never really dug into it. I will say that the only thing ever in my life that touched my anhedonia was Wellbutrin, which is an SDRI, so it's quite possible the Selegiline may help. The issue I had with Wellbutrin was I came as fast as a teenager while on it, and I pride myself on being able to marathon fuck.

Do you how big a deal this will be if it helps? I went anhedonic in my later teens. It was like a light switch just turned off, and I do wonder if some drug experimentation caused it. My entire fucking life, nothing really brings much pleasure aside from food and sex. I rarely listen to music and if the TV is on, it is on for noise. I am disconnected from most anything that brings entertainment to others. Sometimes it's better than others, and I can get some pleasure.. but most of the time not. Every now and then, very rarely, I will have these sublime moments where I can feel... it is like the sun coming out on an overcast day. But it doesn't last. I went through so many "doctors." Not a single one ever recommended Selegiline, and it wasn't until late 40's that I ran across Wellbutrin accidentally because I was experimenting with that weight loss medication that combined it with Naltrexone.

Don't get pissed at me, lol, with your background I would discuss with your doctor. I only say that because shit can send us all off the rails easily. At least for me.

I'm unusually sensitive to everything, as well. Messing with dopamine directly is risky.. was planning on halving.. maybe even quartering a 5mg tablet. I've never tried an MAO-type antidepressant, which carries its own set of precautions. But I am very careful and methodical. Hopefully, I can catalyze one of those lucid moments and actually make it last for more than a few hours.

I may even dissolve a tablet in water so I can dose it volumetrically.

Got the Selegiline yesterday. Was supposed to be a pack of 50, but they left the box intact, which has 100... sheets of foil blister packs. Made a solution this morning. Selegiline HCL is water soluble, so 5ml with a 5mg tablet should yield a pretty accurate 1mg/1ml dose, which I took earlier. Tasted foul. Will take again on Thursday (and EOD after) and just see how it goes over the next few weeks.

The MAO-B enzyme takes weeks to regenerate, and Selegiline is an irreversible inhibitor... so being cautious. Don't want to end up in a bad mental state or condition while waiting to recover.

This experiment has been ended after only one dose. I'm generally not susceptible to placebo, but I damn sure did not expect a worsening of depression. It was bad enough, that in the interest of self-preservation, I should not take further. I'm very familiar with being at the bottom, but this was a little different. This is typical for my response to anything.

Sorry it did not work for you. If you don't mind me asking, why did you mix up a solution instead of cutting up the tabs with an exacto knife?

Accuracy. I wanted to make sure it was just 1mg. I guess it would have been close enough quartering, but with volumetric I could be assured of the same dose every time. It took me a few days to recover. Bad stuff for me.
