So, I finally got back into the gym. It's probably been over 9 months since I have done anything constructive. School has been a monster for me along with working 70+ hours a week....and the list of excuses grows as I type. LOL. I think also the farther I got out from training, the more my ego would mess with me and keep me away because I knew I couldn't do what I used to. Although at some point and time you just have to make a decision to either suck it up and grind it out or walk away. So here goes nothing. I still plan to work with a co-worker, ChaosTheory, when the time comes. (He is getting his shit together too). In the mean time I figured I will start doing something. Something is better than nothing.

Just a test run.....stamina sucks, and weak as hell. I did 1 minute rest intervals to get through the workout. Kinda brutal, but its a start.

The Bench part looks like German Volume Training, a real simple and real good way to get back into it. I can't tell you (because I can't fucking remember) how many times I've been where you describe in your OP.

Sometimes, "Lift Big, Eat Big, Sleep, Repeat" needs a "Regroup" added on to it. Youtube > Class of 57 Had Its Dreams Statler Brothers.

Life gets complicated when you get past 18, just keep regrouping.

Thank you brother. You know it is what it is but life sometimes throws you a curveball or two. I just keep swinging. It's humbling to start where I am at bases upon where I've been but it's a start and we go from there.

And yes, it was similar to GVT. I seem to have a level of success with it. Figured I will go back and see what I can do.

Did 10 minutes on elliptical pre and post workout. Back was tight and buring like a mofo. Kept with the GVT concept and limited my sets to 1 minute rest intervals. Might have fudged on a few and did 90 seconds. LOL. Sucks being weak and out of shape.

You have had a lot on your plate, my friend. As many brothers (and sisters) in iron have told me, the weight is waiting for you and gains will come back....hang in there.
