Yes I am contemplating suiting up for the 650 frame dl. My thinking is I'd like to have as much left as possible for the stones getting me in a suit is asking for a fit to be thrown. Something about being that restricted just instantly pisses me off

Heard it here first ( and I heard it from the manufacturer as well as a few gear gurus)...

washing your gear is just fine

We regularly wash gear with cold water on a delicate cycle and it keeps our gym from getting that "karate studio hot foot" smell

Canvas gear is a little different as it does break down faster in the wash, but poly gear like shirts and briefs are just fine.

With that said.... I've never washed any of my canvas suits except for one that I dyed black ( which ruined it, lost its pop)
I've washed all of my shirts and poly deadlifting suits ( and need to again, I'm starting to make my own nose tork) and they have all come out just fine.

If I have a racing stripe or gambled and lost, I would hit them with the hose when I got home, walk in like nothing happened, drop them in the laundry hamper.

Maybe use Woolite and delicate wash setting for the canvas stuff plus air-drying? I've washed my nylon and neoprene knee pads with regular wash just fine and airdrying them...works for me

NOOOOOOO, no no no no.....

woolite is awesome when you get a new bench shirt or poly suit and you want to speed up breaking it in, awesome if you can't get a shirt to touch and need more stretch..... but it will make gear stretcher and relax the fabric, not what you want with any gear that is already working well for you.

Woolite is anti-steroids for your gear.

Fine for neoprene though.

Ahh ok thanks for that tip..so what's the best thing for canvas items? I have canvas sneakers that need to be washed as they are so funky and dirty now so what's good for that?

Hand wash with laundry soap + oxy clean + vinegar. If you got sun this time of year, let them sun dry. That's how I get the funk out of my gym cloths....but i use the machine.

I remember someone once telling me to use zinc to get the funk out of my neoprene sleeves …
