My son got them a little earlier....maybe 6-7 but at 10 still rides them. I got him a Razor quad and dirt bike. (electric) Strong enough to pull me. He goes buzzing around the neighborhood all the time. Uses it to run back and fourth to friends houses now. All his buddies like to ride them when they come over. At 10, I would say he is ALMOST out grown them....but they still get use.
Got a link to the model by chance?
Thanks!

This is the quad one he has. It is a 300w motor I think. I would say it was GREAT for him when younger, but now he has outgrown. It was about $400.

NOW they have a 500 w which is rated for 220lbs! They say 14+ years old. But I am sure it would probably be something to consider. Up to 60 min runtime. $599 walmart

As for dirt bikes....same thing. We bought him the 300w which he is about out grown....but still rips around the neighborhood on.

But they make a 500w and even a 650w!

I had a go cart as a kid. Probably one of the best gifts I had growing up. It wasn't anything like today's go carts but still had a damn blast on it. Never turned it over fortunately. A cool gift for sure.

I like 2 wheeled toys... You don't need a lot of room for a dirt bike. And they are easier to toss in the back of something and drive it out to a field for bigger play areas.

I grew up in Brooklyn, we didn't have good stuff. My go kart was taking the wheels off of roller skates and screwing them to a piece of ply wood, screws coming through the top cause they were too long, tying some string to the front to "steer" and get pushed down a hill.

Thanks Mac, will check those out.

All these motorized toys are dangerous for a kid that young.
Get him a horse
