Scared might have been the wrong word to use, I just don't feel comfortable that I've actually located them. I can find something that moves like that muscle should move based on its job, but its fucking hard as a rock like bone or hard tendon, so... I might just take a stab at them and see how it feels. I know the area they should be, I just can't be sure I'm going to into itScared by VGs, but not by CALVES? Understood that VGs are a little hard to find for beginners, or maybe by non-beginners up at 308, but they're golden once you find them. Ignore the posts you see some places linking medical sites showing a V-shaped hand (pointing upwards) over the general area. NONE of us can self inject w/our hands pointing upwards while placed on the "hip," those pics are for medical practitioners practicing on patients.
I'm somewhat south of your 308, probably older ... can twist around to do glutes BUT not without too much needle-shake, but VGs are still gtg for me. Advice I used to give is to put your hand on that general area and wiggle around hula-dancing style until you feel them pop up. ***
May be more valuable for IM shots than subQ, but fewer nerves+blood vessels, hold a lot of oil ... be a shame to not give them a 2nd chance.
*** Do this alone unless you're among ppl you really like.
An option if I'm going to keep it. This was test run with a calorie deficit strength maintainer cycle, that I should have bailed on because of my surgery but wasn't thinking. I'm down 10 pounds in 2 months and have maintained and even gained a bit of strength back, so it did what I needed it to do. I'm going to do the longer ester deca and see if I can duplicate this round of NPP with a ton less pins. I might not be 308 for life if it works. If I was that dedicated to said stack, I would source raws and get all the mgs into <.5 mls and s-Q. With s-Q injections the scaring and possible sites are optimized.
I've actually been trying to develop a pin gun that would allow someone to pin in areas that they can't normally reach. Sort of like loading a calking tube or a grease gun.I'm pretty small, and lats are already too hard for me to do on a regular basis. For anyone of actual size, it would be impossible. Just tape the syringe to the wall, needle sticking out, and run into it and press against the wall I guess (kidding... kind of).
Easy fix. I am big for my height and it is hard for me to hit as well. I use the door jam or wall to help me out. I just place the hand and syringe against the door jam and lean my delt into it. I even inject as soon as I get home from the gym, so my arms are usually pumped and a little shaky. No issue. The door jam takes the shake right out of it.I don't think I can reach my delts right. With the 30g pin it takes a bit of force on the plunger, I can see my hand shaking and causing issues. I'm terrified to hit the pecs, I need to just get over myself and try them, as your not the first to mention them.
I'll have to play around with the door jam thing, I'll need to order up some 27s I think the 30s would be a bit harder to do that way. I really don't mind the time it takes to inject, I've been told I'm weird because of that.Easy fix. I am big for my height and it is hard for me to hit as well. I have used a 30 g pin before, but moved back to a 27 g. I use a lot of vet gear, which is in castor oil. Super thick and even warming it up, it can be difficult to push 1 ml of oil through a 30 g pin (takes almost 60 seconds). However, with 27 g it goes at the perfect pace with minimal pressure.
I'm really beginning to love the calf location. I'll hit a zinger from time to time, but I never feel like I'm overloading it or that its not liking it. I get some discomfort about 36 hours after pinning in every location except my biceps that last about 24 hours or so depending on how much test prop I use. So for that reason my fav is the biceps but calves are second. No matter my frequency, i usually hit the same spots, my go tos are: R delt, L delt, R pec, L pec, R bicep, L bicep, R quad, L quad, and occassionally ill add R glute and L glute.
With quads, i alternate between using a 1 inch pin and going upper quad (pretty much where your finger tips land when standing upright with arms down) and a 1/2 inch pin on the lower quad (kind of half way down). Glutes i throw in the mix but probably half a frequently as everything else, just hate the angle. I have relatively small pecs so really restricted to only 1 spot to pin so i try not to abuse the area.
Every now and then ill hit the tricep and trap, although both need to be flexed for me to get in there and i am not so good with my left hand at those angles and usually always botch the shot when pinning the right side of each.
For the life of me i cannot figure out calf shots. Ive tried many times and always fail. I end up with a limp, knot, and swollen leg for a week and gives me a nice kankle im shorts. Wish it worked for me because its such an easy angle to reach.
Not brave enough to try lats yet.
On this board, "weird" is defined as not sticking something somewhere, 1 or more times x week.I'll have to play around with the door jam thing, I'll need to order up some 27s I think the 30s would be a bit harder to do that way.
