Hey I'm new to this site, but I'm trying a cycle of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin). I'm a personal trainer, but I've struggled with maintaining my weight-- (I have to work out 2 hours daily just to maintain) and I'm up again and want to lean out and get more towards competition type form, so I thought I'd give it a go! I want to document it along the way. I have clients who have lost 40 lbs with me, but for some reason ( I think I may have a thyroid problem) exercise and diet just aren't enough! (I'm very knowledgeable in this realm), but my metabolism is still super slow. I'm hoping this will reset my body.. let me give a little background info about HCG..

*It's a hormone produced in pregnancy that is made by the embryo
*it is supposed to tap into abnormal adipose tissue and fat stores, using them as energy
*It is combined with a low calorie (500 cal), high protein diet
*One is supposed to lose adipose (fat) tissue without the loss of lean muscle

Some say this is neither safe (nor effective), however I have seen people I know lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks using this product...

so here goes.. starting tomorrow morning as day 1

I'm sure many members are familiar with hcg. I personally would like to see the results from this, however I would opt for other, more effective drugs.

Good luck.

Please keep a detailed log of ur cycle. I am trying to formulate a pre-contest cut cycle with HCG. Here is what I know, hope it helps:
HCG suppresses Alpha 2 receptors. Aplha 2's are the little guys responsible for protecting fat stores from being burned in daily activities. When Alpha2 receptors are suppressed, fat becomes readily available for energy....after daily intake of course. So, if a BB were to enter a caloric deficit while employing HCG on a carb depleted diet fat would be used as energy sparing lean muscle(in theory anyways). We could further augment this process by throwing in a beta agonist such as clenbuterol. Beta agonists promote fat metabolism and, in theory, when in tandem with HCG in caloric deficit would have unfettered access to fat stores. Still a work in progress.

Most of the results I've seen from "successful" documented cases of dramatic weight loss using HCG had the participants in the study at a calorie intake of only 500 cals per day. So, in my mind that tells us absolutely nothing. I would lose a ton of weight if I only ate 500 cals per day as well. So, I'm not sure HCG is what is responsible for the bulk of the weight loss here. It's more of a "hypnosis" type trick that makes people believe that it won't work unless their calorie intake is at a certain level.

Now, having said that, I'm not too sure what the propertied of HCG are concerning maintaing muscle mass or overall energy while on a claoric deficit. Maybe there is some benefit that allows people to dip down really low on th calorie scale. However, I still believe there are better forms of successful weightloss available.

I'm not recommending 500 cal diets. A 200lb BB goes into caloric deficit in ranges as high as 1800 cal/day. The 500 cal protocol is for 300lb moo-moo's who are living sedentary low-exertion lifestyles. We are talking about athletes training multiple times per day with a high % of skeletal muscle. I'm suggesting that the addition of HCG could expedite the fat loss in a standard pre-con cut, while giving added security to lean mass. The properties of HCG and its effects on body fat are well-documented. However, the anabolic community, if you will, has fallen into functional fixedness as to the uses of HCG. I'm suggesting a new application...not a miracle shredding drug.

I agree, and I was saying that I don't know enough about it's properties to comment on the effectiveness in the bodybuilding culture. I'll be very interested to see what your results are bro.

Interested, but I have to say I've always put more on the VERY low calorie diet than the HCG. Could be. I'll do some research. Looking forward to the results.

500cals a day! I eat that in my mid morning snack. I would absolutely lose my damn mind. I am leaning up at the tail end of my bulker that I am running, and I just started a blast of hcg for a month. I have dropped 3lbs so far, but that could be from anything. I am on test/tren, but I have noticed I have been looking a little leaner after only 1.5 wks of hcg use. I too am interested in what will happen with the op.

I don't like the 500 calorie deal an hcg diet requires...personally it strikes me as a "crash" diet. Keep us posted, but also consider a clen/t3 cycle. Go to AAS cycles forum and read my Clen/T3 cycle info...

I am not sold on HCG as a fat losing aid per se - I do know there have been extensive studies in estro control and fat loss with nolva for example - I have never lost fat while using HCG but then I am not on a restricted calorie diet either

I find it very interesting that you can train your clients and aid them in fat loss and not yourself - I wonder if maybe you should talk to a medical specialist and that there may be other factors at work?
