I was using the home brew from the LMNT website also, but with a job change I just decided to get their own blend for convenience.

Am i the only one who just cannot drink the lmnt shit? Like wtf… so much damn sodium its horrible instant headaches i had to throw out a shit ton i got along with some veteran owned bub ‘s or something like that way to much damn sodium…

It was a bit much at first. I think it ran right through me also, but it’s been a few months now and it’s fine for me

Yeah, it really is an individual thing, and the solute ratio is important. The LMNT was designed for 1 liter of water. I believe LMNT is 1,000 mg sodium to 200 mg potassium.

You can always use just half a packet.

True, i always just threw it in a nestle water about 20 or so ounces and it was way too damn much salt for me

I mix my salts in old 1 liter smartwater bottles with Gatorade powder. There's a synergy with the carbs and salts, helps with the uptake.

Plus, if I'm doing something where I'm sweating that much, and electrolyte replenishment is a concern, it's more than likely that I'll need simple sugars for energy during.

I might have to give this a shot. My job involves a ton of heat and molten metal. So it’s always a concern of being too dehydrated

Are you a welder? Or do you throw sacrifical virgins into volcanoes?

Both are cool.

Lmao I’m a welder that graduated into a boss. The Virgin thing sounds way cooler though

Cool, I just started the process of learning to weld, ultimately to be able to fully do all the work on my old Jeep. Starting with flux core, then moving on to MIG. Possibly TIG at some point, but undecided.

Here's my first 20 ugly beads, 10 yesterday and 10 today...

Normally I go pretty sodium heavy. LMNT does pretty good for me, personally I like the taste. Just a little pricy for a packet of salt basically.

I work in the heat, I just keep some sea salt or pink salt in my truck, water and dr berg potassium/electrolyte mix which can be found on Amazon. It’s pretty up there in potassium.

most of the time I actually just do a few unmeasured turns of the salt crusher into my mouth, then flush with water. If I’ve eaten a lot of processed foods or
Fast food, I back off the sodium. If I’m eating clean like I should, then I up it.

having an ideal “ratio” is hard to pin down due to your environment, eating habits, and so on

I just use SOLE. Take a 32 oz. Mason Jar with a Plastic Lid and dump in 1/3 Cup Himalayan Pink Salt or Celtic Sea Salt... (Coarse Grind, not Fine)... Fill it with Purified Water, leave an inch or so at the top. Cap it and let it sit overnight. Upon waking, if all the Salt is dissolved, you need to add more. Do so and wait until the next day.

When there is Salt Crystals at the bottom, it means the Water is fully saturated. Take a Tsp of the SOLE and put it in a 16-20 ounce cup of Purified Water, depending on your taste. Down it and that's that... It's supposed to be your Daily requirement for Sodium, and the Himalayan Salt adds 80 plus more nutrients, everything known to Man.

Now... That's for regular people. I don't have an answer on whether Athletes or Gym Rats etc. need more servings.

What I do know is after my Tsp in the morning, I don't crave anything that has Salt.

I can't believe someone can sell packets of Table Salt!

1 scoop EAA
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/4 teaspoons of Morton’s “ lite” salt
1 scoop of taurine (1gram)
Drink it all day
Before the gym I’ll add
Pre workout
1 scoop creatine
1 scoop citraline malate
