How do I tell the difference between losing water weight and losing fat?

    I'm cutting weight and in about 4 days I've gone from 200.2 pounds to 193.6 and I'm gonna keep cutting. I know most of that is water but how do I know when I'm losing fat?

    This question kinda doesn't make sense or you are just overlooking the obvious.

    You can measure bodyfat %. Calipers, bodpod, dexa etc...

    And it's not like you will continue losing only water.

    if it were 4 days, the chances of it being all fat is very slim. i would say it is mainly water/food weight. but it is possible that some of it was fat

    you have lost 90% water and cleared your intestines and bowels.

    I can lose 7lbs overnight.
