I've never been a victim of police violence or abuse. But then I pretty much always obey the laws (I do tend to drive a bit faster than the speed limits on occasion).

I guess since I'm not married to a cop, I must be 60% less likely to experience any violence/abuse from them. So far I am really beating those odds. I should head to the casino or play the lottery, because I must be one of the luckiest people alive.

You think that’s how percentages work??
How about this: Suppose there were a 40% chance you get covid you’d die.
Suppose that driving over a bridge you have a 40% chance of it collapsing.
How about if there were a 40% chance if you fly your plane will crash.
A 40% chance that the next time you drive you’ll be killed.
Would 40% begin to make a difference to your awareness then?

So. I currently know 3 cops who abuse their kids, girlfriend, wife. You think 40% is an imaginary and arbitrary figure? OK... go bury yourself back underneath a rock. Cover your eyes, ears and mouth.
Because you know some, and I don't, that I'm wrong that my friends who are cops aren't bad? You logic defies all reason.

You also keep using 40% of cops are bad and you accept 0% bad cops serving. But want to get rid of 100% of cops. Your math doesn't even work.

They would just expect everyone else to pay for it. Like they do now.

Thats the thing, they could only ask the shitty America that live in to pay for it.
The other America wouldnt give a fuck.

Im not really sure I understand you here.
So because (your number) 40% of cops do domestic abuse you want to get rid of law enforcement?

Here is another number for you - 100% of criminals break the law.
How do you propose we deal with that?

I live part of the time in an apartment overlooking Loring Park in Minneapolis. The George Floyd stuff all went down just blocks from here. Ever since then the whole area is a no cop, no ambulance, no fireman zone. And after dark its a no whitey zone. Its open season there. So without law and order what do you get? Chaos, death, destruction. Murder without repercussions. And there is no useful production in that zone for anything... its just a black hole.

Bozo! You’re the one that used the dumbass litmus of knowing cops that are “good our good guys” supposedly, as though that means they’re all good. My exampling that I currently know (and have known others past) that abuse, was not only to serve as a counter point, but to also bring attention that your experience holds no merit simply because it’s personal experience — the statistical fact based on overall hard evidence confirms the institution at large has a SERIOUS fucking abuse problem:

No, not get rid of LE, but not worship the institution. Blueline flag waiving, and ignoring of the serious institution wide issues that have to be addressed and disciplined away harshly.

All the ones I know are good. I cannot possibly know of the ones I've never known? You're very odd.

IF you can point out anywhere I said we should get rid of 100% of cops, please point it out. Also, I didn’t say 40% of cops are bad — actually, MORE than 40% of cops are bad, and, 40% commit domestic abuse.

You don't say "Why does anyone support/like 40% of the cops". You say "the cops".

I don't think anyone is against getting rid of the truly bad cops and changing education. In Minneapolis they've already changed the training to make sure they are using the right tools and correctly (like no knee to neck holds).

Fair enough.
I do think the time it become an LEO is stupidly short.
It takes almost 4 times as long to learn how to clean teeth.
The academy is usually way too short. Too short to to weed out bad ones and get enough training for the good ones.
Not enough ongoing training either for that matter. Too much is expected to be learned on the job from a FTO.
If that FTO is a dirt bag in a dirt bag department it will just be passed on to the new newbie.

I know several police officer that I support 100%.
Shit, I would step in front of a bullet for them, just like they would fore me.
I agree we have an issue and need to improve but the current shit going on isnt exactly taking us in the right decision.
I do support the blue line but I dont worship them either. The older I get the less I trust the police. Sad to say but we have seen enough shit to demand changes.
I do demand changes and will do so by voting. I totally oppose whats going on now and Im ready for water cannons and live ammo.
