Just an update....heading to the Mayo Clinic on the 11th for a surgery consult. Two surgeons, who have priviledges there will be doing the operation. One has experience working with the Spanish Olympic team and the other is currently working with the Canadian Olympic team. I'm very very fortunate to have a local surgeon who is pretty well-known who has some connections. Luckily, too, he also understands my desire to lift. So therefore, he has my best interest at heart and wants to ensure I get the best care. I'm thinking I will be in pretty good hands. :D I also had an EMG done last Friday and it did detect a compressed radial nerve as well. I'm hoping this will not complicate my elbow arthoscopy. I definitely would rather have scope than be cut open. This is the same arm I had my bicep tendon rupture on. Hopefully by cleaning out the elbow and getting out all those pieces of bone and cartilage and etc, I will be back at it soon. The nerve issue kinda worries me though....til then, lifting will be hit and miss.

Thanks, brother. I'm hoping to get those numbers to where I think they should be. A lot of my bench issues have been due to this elbow issue. Hoping with surgery things will clear up and not only will I be able to bench again, but potentially my ROM and ability to do some of the Oly lifts will be easier. Some of my issue with squatting and technique are potentially due to this elbow not being able to do what it's supposed to. I'm very pleased with the surgeons that are going to do the surgery. They both have some pretty decent credentials and experience working with lifters. That does put my mind at ease. The nerve issue does potentially make me a bit uneasy but one thing at a time.

Flat Bench
135x20
225x10
315x10
405x3

Rope Pressdowns
75x30, 30, 30, 30

Plate Side/Front Raises
10x50, 40, 40

Reverse Cable Pushdowns
30x25, 25, 25, 20

Kroc Rows
50x25, 25, 25, 25

Machine Chest Press (5 second pauses on top and bottom)
135x10, 10, 10, 10

Okay...I know I had surgery 3 weeks ago, but sutures got taken out Monday and I figured, "**** it." Why not just feel it out. I wasn't going to push it over 405. It didn't hurt and it didn't feel bad. I can tell I have lost a little from not doing anything, but it could be worse. The chest press machine actually really gave me a good stretch by hold it at the bottom for a 5 second count. Elbow felt worked. Plus, it's probably good to break up scar tissue so it doesn't start building up again. And it beats the shit out of paying $25 a day for a CPM machine to move your arm. **** that.

Neck, you know I'm prob as diehard of a Hawkeye fan as you are a Huskers fan....I figured you would launch a 45 lb plate mortar my way. Lol. Nah bro, Hawks overachieved and despite their bowl loss to LSU, they made steps in the right direction. Nebby just had too many injuries. Welcome to the Big 10. It's about who is healthy at the end of the year.

Flat Bench (1 minute rest intervals)
135x10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
225x10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
315x10,10,10,10,10 (90 second intervals)
405x3

Well, basically it's time to see how the elbow feels. It's been about a month and a half since I lifted and The Neck got me motivated again. I'm gonna get the new year moving with a stack from Black Stone Labs and blow shit up. Today was time for me to walk through the gym doors again and get after it. As expected it was a bit of a reality check, but on a good note, no pain or other issues. Now it's time to get stronger again.

Now it's a party brother. I have like zero doubts you won't be 100% back on deck in short order. It's called being a PLer by blood, it's not a decision, your born that way.
