My gym had an open house that they were planning for a few weeks now. Had a few vendors in the parking lot and ppl could come and see the gym and sign up, etc. It is not a big box gym, is smaller and local.
It was great, but not too many ppl showed up. I showed up and bought a couple things. Bought a workout tank for the hubz, that reads " SwoleHUB", little spin on PornHUB, lol.

Plus it is nice to go and socialize with some other gymgoers since i don't talk at the gym. I am heads down in my workouts and give twofucks about anyone else and their lives LOL. So i am generally not social.....

I’m about done with these commercial gyms, would love a good mom & pop place with decent equipment. Glad you showed up to support them.

That’s pretty cool they did that. I would love to have a mom and pop gym to go to.

That is pretty cool. I remember World's Gym doing something like that back in the 90's.

I wish it was like that at my gym. I workout on base most of the time and one thing I can tell you about service members is we do not follow social norms. I have my head phones in and purposely put on a resting bitch face at the gym. It doesn't matter. I will still get 1-3 people every single day stopping to talk to me. I workout at the same time every day, so most have stopped asking me if I am a trainer or coach. However, most introduced themselves, so I guess that means were buddies now and gives them the right to stop and talk to me and a few of the older retirees will ask me every once in a while to watch them do an exercise to ensure their form is correct. I have to program about 15 extra minutes into my workout just for conversation.

Used to work out at a mom and pop gym. They are both IFBB pros anf powerlifters. Loved the gym, loved them. Only issue was not enough equipment when they got busy. Covid hit, they had to close so built my own PL gym at home. I still stop in and chat with them from time to time.

I love not having to go to a big box gym. Local mom and pop gym in my area too that caters to lifters. They have everything I need thankfully. No big crowds, no distracting music that I can't drown out with my head phones. Usually just me, the weights and my intensity. (Maybe a few other people if I go at peak hours, but they're usually serious too and in their own zone)
