Officers responding to a reported domestic disturbance arrested a man for manufacturing steroids — an offense with which he had previously been charged — according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

On June 7, investigators with the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team responded to a residence in the 300 block of Palm Avenue, off of Lanier Drive, to assist in a domestic disturbance call, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Friday.

The homeowner, James Hunter Poole, 23, had been arrested by CST in March for manufacturing steroids and subsequently posted bond on that charge, Anderson said.

During the domestic dispute investigation, CST personnel noted all of the necessary ingredients to manufacture steroids inside the residence, along with syringes, vials, and a quantity of suspected finished product, the sheriff said.

Poole was rearrested for manufacturing steroids and transported to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond.

All evidence was submitted to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for testing.

Used to hear the old public service announcement about "gasoline and alcohol don't mix." Guess we have seen before that steroids and women can get a bit dicey too.

Unless he had his little lab on the table inside the front door, LE had to go sniffing around to find this. Not unlikely IF they were aware of his prior steroid bust when they responded, or do they normally sniff around the house on domestic disputes anyway, looking for potential problems from the more common guns and alcohol? Or, is it as simple as she mentioned that 2 seconds after they arrived?
