I believe govt should play NO role in marriage. think about it, currently you have to ask the state to get married. that's insulting and offensive. why do we need the govt permission to get married?
I absolutely agree with this...leave it up to the churches if they want to marry gays, then its on them either way.
Personally I'm against Gay marriages. Call it a civil union but not a marriage.

we'll know in a month.
then the GOP can decide to split into a moral/fundamentalist party; the Tea Party; and the RINO party. everyone can be happy belonging to their own group.

So a man and a women gets a license to marry from the state.
They go to the court and they get married.
Now they have some legal benefits/protection and they get tax benefits.

Then a woman and a woman gets a license to marry from the state.
They to the court and they get married.
Now they have some legal benefits/protection and they get tax benefits.

But one you want to call a marriage and the other a civil union.
Why?
Whats the difference?

its not a religious issue but a legal issue.
Why should one have a different name?

The gays in my town have been asked to stop being gay in public areas. They are ruining the environment and local economy

What if you had 2 guys standing next to each other... and one of them was missing an arm.. you think they are still equal no matter what?

Great logic here. Comparing someone with a physical disability to homosexuality.

No he didnt. He asked if two men, one of which is missing an arm is equal. Nowhere did he say that gay people are one armed freaks.

In civil rights and liberties yes. But we are not talking about physical equality so there was no point in saying what you did.
