I have almost always relied upon bags of frozen veggies for my servings of veggies at work ... 3-4 meals usually 1/2-1cup per meal... Broccoli colliflower etc and sometimes canned chick peas ... My question is around ph balance and acidity ... Does the fact that I don't prepare fresh veggies affect any angle of metabolism? I know it will result in a higher PH in the body but I wasn't able to find any info on what other ill effects this might have on one eating a BBing diet

I do both....frozen during the week for convenience during work but the freshness can't be beaten so I cook fresh whenever I can. Curious from some of the bio specialists to know more about this as well....I would guess "no" but I'm chiming in because I'd like to know as well. Good question jhot

I do the frozen ones because they are better for you. Fresh is the best but frozen is second.

I have a close friend who is a sous chef at an elite steakhouse, and he explained to me that during certain times of the year they only use flash frozen veggies and fruits because they are higher quality and better tasting than their out-of-season fresh counterparts. From a nutritional perspective, the difference between frozen, fresh, and organic is marginal at best. I go with convenience and buy frozen.

That is basically what I was gonna say... Local seasonal stuff is generally best, but if you live where I live that isn't possible at all times of the year. There is really nothing wrong with frozen so long as they have been handled properly... Just watch for excessive frost in the bag or if they are all stuck together.

Yep, matters how fast they were froze after harvest and type of freeze\packing. Fresh veggies have their own issues also as as soon as they're picked they begin to degrade, alot of veggies\fruits have preservers \ wax type substances sprayed over them to keep them green n pretty. I dont buy into the whole 'organic' grow thing, ther are a few small mom n pop farms but most of those are at the local ''farmers markets or roadside stands not in markets. Most of what everyone thinks they're getting, is not much different than supermarket variety standards
